How will language work for EU mega server.

Post » Sun Mar 16, 2014 6:19 am

Just curious if they factored in this for the eu players, normaly country's pick a server and such before launch, even if it's English, other contries take it over and the games population knows it and picks accordingly.

But with one server this is going to get messy, a lot of players want to speak their own language, prob is there is at least 8 languages, so a lot of speak this and that, that happens in other mmos.

Due to this I'm temped to jump to the US servers if pings are not to bad.

Does the language that general chat is going on in really matter?

I mean it's not impacting your guild chat or friend chat.

If they do this I would guess language-shards/instances maybe?

Personally sometimes it does annoy. I don't do guild for a while into the games life.

Theres language specific channels for French, German and I cant remember if there were others.

It annoys me. Part of why I dont play on EU. My friend was annoyed and went to US in other games. He wont speak Swedish online either(hes a jerk and wont use ot around me at all *shakes fist* grumble grumble I like hearing it bleh).

Ah well.

To each his own I suppose... are they giving priority to instancing based on language at all? It doesn't bother me one way or the other but I am curious to know.

I actually like to see some variety other than English myself.

When chat is interspaced with huge amounts of text from multiple different languages you don't understand it can become a mess.

Of course there's enzone frzone etc but if you block zone then you block out a huge amount of conversation from people who aren't aware or won't use language specific chat.

This argument already started within hours of beta starting. Huge amounts of non-English pops up in zone, people asking for English so they can understand, and then a huge argument where pretty much everyone has a different opinion and typical insults are thrown around about English speakers (usually directly insulting English people regardless of nationality of person they are referring to) and non-English speakers, tirades about Russians, arguments on how Chinese/Spanish/Whatever is more popular (and how English svcks), and so on.

Yeah it's actually a mess right now. I think that an existence of ENZone chat is what majorly makes it easy for ignorantly stubborn people to claim that main zone chat is all-language chat and call people names on both sides. Ok whatever, call me names I'm not a whiny child I can take it, but statements go as blunt as denying english language of it's very well known international status and sending people to "their english corner" from zone chat constantly, it's already a flame war topic that goes on and on there. I won't rant no more, but this gets pretty ridiculous now and a separate enzone is just making it worse. if all of this continues I may try the US server as well despite the fact that it's wa~y out of my timezone.

It's annoying to see german and other languages spammed on /zone chat. Would be nice if those players were automatically put into their language of the zone chat depending on what their account is set to. Would sort it all out.. I would play US servers, but bad ping so can't get past this.

Personally when I play, I just block the Zone chat completely, unless I feel I want to write and chat about total nonsense or help someone ^^

There are zone chat for english french and german they are supposed to be only for those alnguages and the zone chat is free for anyone to speak in, though can be annoying seeing languages taking over which I do not understand, but zone chat is mostly spam chat anyway :)

i really don`t give a [censored].

there are millions of ppl running around with funny French names and it also doesn't bother me at all. you see it is impossible to create servers for each eu language cuz there are many of them and many may not like to speak english either BUT they also want to lay the game. so you can`t force anyone to speak a language simply because it annoys you :)
