You basically play campaign in any order you want. When you win you move on to the next level, if you lose you stay and wait for someone else to battle on the same level. In freeplay mode it's just like any other game, win or lose you get set up with a different team on a different map.

Yeah sorry bout that you got standard issue reply number 1 there.

Lets say your playing single player, then one of your friends comes online, he/she can just jump into your game in progress (if you want them too, i guess there would be some way of stopping them) Then you get bored of just playing against the computer(bots) and you can just find a online game, with out having to go back to the main menu and reloading everything.

Thats the basics

"If you’re trying to play through a storyline in “proper order” in Brink’s Campaign mode, the game will just work the way you’d expect it. If you fail your mission, you’ll try it again, no matter if you’re playing single player, co-op, or competitive multiplayer. We’re not going to force anyone to play all the missions in order, though. Brink is like a book… when you buy it, we’re not going to try to stop you from turning to the last page and seeing how the story ends. We’ll present it to you in the proper order, but if you want to skip a chapter, or play in any order you like, go right ahead. Our story is written such that you can jump in at any point and understand what you need to know. Lastly, if you’re playing Brink multiplayer in Free Play mode and happen to lose the match, you’ll just move on to the next map in the rotation – much like you’d expect from any other multiplayer game."

Brink, players will be able to, at a glance, see where all their friends are and what they’re doing, and jump directly into their games. Once they’re together in a mission, they can opt to stick together so they won’t get split up to different teams or different servers.

Basically, when you’re playing through a campaign, when you’re about to start a new mission, there are two simple choices you can make:

1. do you want to play solo, co-op, or versus?
2. if online, do you want to play with just your friends, or with anyone?

You make that choice and then launch the mission. Depending on what you chose, the game will either:

1. set a match up for you specifically that only your friends can get into, or it will
2. find a public match that gives you everything you need (an open slot on the faction you’re playing, a good ping, etc.),
3. or just let you play completely by yourself with no one else getting in except people you invite.

From the compendium. Read it twice

What if you win the last level?

When playing Campaign, you probably return to the main menu.

When playing Freeplay, there is no "last level".

When playing Stopwatch, there isn't either.

So what about competitive multiplayer? Will you get to pick your faction, or is it like MW where it randomly selects you to a side?

I believe there is a preference, but it's not guaranteed.

But I could be wrong

I didnt want to start new topic since this one is about Multiplayer! Do you guys think there will be "NAT type" problem like in CoD BO for example? or it will work very good as Battlefield BC2 (for me anyway) and when you start playing with firends you can play couple hrs without thinking about "migrations" "DC's"etc. ?

Smart move,

As for your question, it is a peer to peer system, so it depends on the connection of players. But I don't think if someone drops out you'll sit in a waiting screen, that would defeat the purpose of the drop in/out system they developed.

Competitive games will probably be held in Stopwatch mode, where the teams have to play on either side - once attacking, once defending.

That means each map is played twice and the team which wins faster gets a point.
