How will music be incorporated into the game?

Since this game blends the single player and multiplayer experience together, I assume there is going to be music during online matches or else the entire game would be devoid of a soundtrack except during menus and cutscenes.

Personally, I love music in multiplayer. In Call of Duty 4, awesome suspense music played when the countdown timer started running out. In Halo Reach firefight, amazing action music starts when you reach the last wave of enemies and escalates when there are only five left.

I hope music during matches is set on a loop and the loop changes as you complete an objective and progress further into the level. Even better, it would be cool if the music adapted to how well you are doing. If you and your team are staying alive and storming through objectives, cool Matrix-esque electronica music (like we have seen in the trailers) would play. If your team is getting stomped, maybe some more dramatic music should play.

However, I'm not expecting much since we haven't heard anything about it. I just hope there is music during the match and not just in the menus like I said earlier.

If it starts getting repetitive, you can always turn the music off in the options.

I agree, I hope for some music, just for something to listen to while sniping or camping.

As far as I can remember, CoD4's OST was pretty forgettable...

Soundtracks can make a huge difference to immersion, but they can distract from the reality at times and make it feel more cinematic. From gameplay vids there doesn't seem to be much music at all, which is good, because what I've heard from the composer's other projects did NOT impress me.

Cutscenes will present most music, I guess.

After all BRINK is leaning towards high quality audio, you don't want to miss that because of music.

I'd love for there to be contextual music rather than having it play all the time. Like say, the last 30 seconds or so of a match have some music to give you that oomph to make the last push... or give some music right after completing an objective. I'd also like there to be some music at the very start to get people pumped for the upcoming gunfights.

If you're not in the heat of battle, there will be a short stinger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b125tQrrjU).

That's why there's this gruff dude that yells "WE'VE ONLY GOT THIRTY SECONDS LEFT BROTHERS!!!" over your radio.

or give some music right after completing an objective.

I guess this is good. I wish there was the option to keep music playing constantly. Sure it would get old after a while but if the music is good, I don't care.

The thing is, though, the music would be constantly drowned out by constant fire, so you'd get all of these really dissonant sounds.

It would be really nice if a game I bought other than Burnout Paradise would utilize custom music. I'd like to listen to music I stored on my PS3 while I run and gun.

Halo, Call of Duty, Half Life, Gears of War....all those games do it. I don't see it being an issue in Brink.
