You can just go all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMjkfZ3q8tE on the dragon and still feel epic about it. Just imagine the Oliphaunt to be a dragon and you'll do alright :)

exactly... stealth characters have bows for a reason... that moment in LotR was truly epic. :D

jumping around on a dragon's body and shooting arrows into the back of its head would be awesome. :mohawk:

Bows. Shoot the dragon in the heart. Will be crazy hard though if it's flying.

Stealth players can always hide, and never engage dragons if they don't want to, obviously.

Although it might pose a worthy challenge for a lightly armored archer/ranger/assasin/average stealthy joe, I think that it is far from impossible. If you use your speed, ranged capability and wits(you've got those right?) I believe you can with some work bring those scaled beasts down. First, remember the motto of the Boy scouts "Be prepared", then before you venture out in the great outdoors stack up with potions, poisons, enchanted equipment and whatever you might need (resist fire and restore fatigue is key). When you venture out in the wilderness take note f good defensive spots, where would the dragon have a hard time getting to you? Then when you ecounter one of them you will know where you should choose to run, where to hide and where to make your stand. Before it comes close you might find it smart to fire a couple of arrows towards it. When he gets too close you run, hide and tries to get a clear shot of him. Then you rinse and repeat. If all else fails you flee.

Without Dragon Shouts at least, the whole 'warrior going toe-to-toe with a dragon' scenario is ridiculous.

Sneaking into the lair and getting the first blow, maybe in a vulnerable spot, makes a lot more sense.

Holy [Censored] Your Boring! No good coward! My sneak character is gone fight 'em like a man! Jump on its back, as it flies upwards slit its throat, Fall to your death!

Even stealth players have to get down and dirty with swords and maces sometimes I guess... :spotted owl:

let dragons have some really vulnerable spots that cant be reached without bow and arrow or without some nifty pieces of evasion

that way stealth characters have to make a lot less hits, but make them a lot harder to pull off

maybe have dragons have gills or something that open up for just a second, barely enough to sneak an arrow through

Bow & arrows , spells and fro what we've seen from the new trailer is that dragons swoop down to attack so use melee blades or blunt weapons for that.

I would think that the *best* way to kill something that can fly would be using either bow+arrows or destruction magic. A dragon with fight and fire should be able to easily kill any enemy without a ranged attack.

I would let the beast detect me. Then I would run like H*** to the closest town, and relax somewhere watching the guards fighting it. :disco:

How will stealth players take down dragons?

Easy, cut a hole in the ice on a lake and put a pea next to it. When the dragon goes to eat the pea you sneak up behind him and kick him in the icehole. Works on polar bears too, plus I have a theory that this is what Skyrims vampires use to catch their victims.

Maybe the thief class gets a special feat that lets them magically extend the length of their dagger during combat with dragons, yet it's treated as a dagger-class weapon for the duration? So you're holding this tiny blade and the dragon's swooping by overhead and you swing your blade, and suddenly it whips out to full length, slicing open its belly, then magically retracting back into a dagger?

Would be a cool animation at least ...

(Yes, I realize this idea is absurd, but I couldn't resist posting it anyway, argh) .... hahahaha

Run around them while stabbing them and firing constant arrows at their head.

Todd mentioned that there will be different kinds of dragons, so it might vary from that. He also mentioned that daggers give you like 10x damage in sneak, but he did not mention whether or not it would stack with the base sneak crit (the one you would get from using other weapons). I also think that alchemy will be more of a stealth thing.

And wasn't there something about a dragon shout that lets you teleport over a few yards or so? I imagine that could be very effective against a dragon (what I think will be a comparatively slow attacking enemy) for a stealth character.
