An awesome dragon slaying arrow.

Edit: Also posioned arrows, as Tausig2 mentioned alchemy. I love poisoned arrows.

Run around them while stabbing them and firing constant arrows at their head.

i think i read somewhere that you have to be stationary to shoot arrows

I would let the beast detect me. Then I would run like H*** to the closest town, and relax somewhere watching the guards fighting it. :disco:

and let a simple guard acquire the dragons soul?

Anyone read the Hobbit? Smaug got taken down by one arrow to the exposed belly, and with the confirmed stronger archery I'm sure that bows will be enough to take down a dragon, especially with poisons and sneakyness and such.

Haha no, I'm a thief, so I will steal it from them.

Easy money!

You could poison your arrows or blades to weaken it then go in for the finisher I guess.

Right have you seen the film Jurassic park. remember the scene with the Goat!? of course you do. Now do that but strap explosives underneath it. Then release a fire arrow. BOOM! explosive goats ftw.

(sorry if this has already been mentioned)

But perhaps as the dragon swoops down you can grab its neck and swing up and stab the dragon repeatedly in the brain :ninja:

So I've just been thinking lately about my first playthrough. I generally like to start off with a stealth player, thief/assassin. I will probably dual wield daggers and use a bow at range. Most of the game will be fine with this type of player, but what about the dragons? I can see getting off a shot or two with a bow but once it gets close, i'm not sure that daggers will have enough stopping power. I don't really want to have to incorporate large blades or blunt weapons into my skill set if I don't have to. Anybody else curious about this aspect of the game?

Who says you have to take down dragons? What kind of thief/assassin tries to take on a dragon in the first place?

Solution:

*Poison- stab and wait for the dragon to die as you use your stealth skills to avoid fire and dragon rage
*Invisibility - Be able to go invisible whilst in combat unlike in Oblivion, then same as above, but more interactive
* Hemorrhage - Dragon bleeds to death, or is slowed significantly where you can do the interaction without worrying about being one hit killed yourself.

Stealth isn't always an instant kill, sometimes its about slowly taking down something with powerful attacks, and remaining unnoticed as you tear them apart. Sort of like a bull fighter.

Maybe it will be like on King's Quest I, where you can kill a dragon in one hit just by throwing a dagger at it :). Seriously though, perhaps the dragons have a weak spot.

I'll just be as bad ass as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdaQC6GUrnU from Dragon Age. Just jump off of something really high, land on the dragon, and start stabbing the hell out of it.

Seems the dragon shouts will be a key part of killing a dragon with a stealth character. Like using force push effect to keep distance from the dragon and pelt it with arrows.

As for me, I'll just rely on my skill in Running-Away-Very-Fast. Remember, it's not important where you run to, it's only important what you are running from!

It's all about hit and run with a bow, or magic traps and the like. Anyone set like 150 traps in DA:O where the dragons land? Same thing but with those magic gem things they talked about for Skyrim.

Dragons have to sleep sometime...

Kinda of pointless though, if by (game design) the dragons sleep in the mountains and there are invisible walls stopping you climbing them..

Em, dude, there's a drawback to that approach. Riordan fell to his death  .which would've happened even if he did finish it off himself  . Whoops. Make sure to mod in a parachute.

Well probably by relying on effects on their weapons.

Eg: stun shots with bow & arrow, poisons with daggers/swords.
Probably end up having to play a cat & mouse kinda game with it, as you are the mouse - but you have some lethal claws and teeth :D

4. Scream; "Ahahaha, No scoped, ****!"
