How will you play

Post » Fri Jul 01, 2011 1:47 pm

Is it strange I was never able to get an effective play out of Oblivion using only magic? At least early on.

I'll probably be playing stealth. Get some rogue/ninja on. Not sure what race, probably Breton female? Wood elf maybe.

A Khajiit, mostly stealth with just enough combat and magic to get out of stick situations.

I will utilize all fighting styles as best I can. Usually I'll be sneaking around my enemies to assassinate them but if I am confronted, my attacker will either get clobbered by a mace or singed with a fireball.

Gormgolac will play as a druidic wizard-hunter. His skills in descending order: Alchemy, Illusion, Conjuration, Destruction. He will use the sign of the Atronach to give him extra power. He will wear only some fur armor, perhaps just gauntlets, and boots; the rest will be layers of clothing.

Fighting doesn't interest me, so I'll use Invisibilty alot. I'll walk past most fights and charm my way through others.

If an enemy must be defeated, and I have to particular no attachment to them, I'll use either a command, fury, or summon to dispatch them.
Now if the individual needs to be dealt with quietly I'll use the old bound dagger/chameleon combo.
If I'm low on magic or need to use destruction or restoration (character doesn't use these schools of magic) I'll use my trusty staffs.
If a fight is personal I'll use my Katana with no magic.

Mostly though I'll be smithing and enchanting items for sell and personal use.

I'm going to try a sneaky beaky bow and arrow wielding thief-type character who likes to headshot people from crouched (hidden) position for extra x150 damage... but only if I can be sneaky beaky whilst doing it.

And in the nvde.

Bosmer or Dunmer assassin straight up. Bows, daggers and sneak. Never liked Illusion in Oblivion, it was like 15 sec Invisibility spell and I can just run through all the quests, very happy to hear about 10x damage though

Spellsword first because I have to test out the new magic system then an archer but I haven't decided whether it will be an open combat archer backed up with a sword or the stealthy assassin kind as both sound appealing right now.

Stealth based spellsword.

I think that would be classed as a nightblade (going by classes in previous games)

My first character, since DF, has always been a Dunmer stealth type. Problem is, my newest character in Oblivion (92 hours in) is an Argonian Battlemage and stealth hybrid. He's a ton of fun to play, and I feel inspired while playing him, as most people outside of Leyawiin think I'm less than dirt. So I have a chip on my shoulder, an ardent passion to prove all the other races wrong about my lizard kinfolk. Not to mention diseases barely touch me and I can breathe underwater without the use of magic devices or spells. The fact that I'm an Argonian vampire just makes it even more fun to play. So the dilemma I'm facing is: Do I roll a DE or an Argonian for Skyrim? I'm not sure quite yet. The dynamic between the two races will be even more interesting in Skyrim, considering the lizards have invaded and conquered Morrowind.

Either way, my first character will use all manner of light armor, have plenty of potions and poisons strapped to his belt and in his traveling bag, an opulent bow on his back with self-made arrows to match, a magical sword in his right hand, and a deadly dagger or mace in his left. 11.11 can't come soon enough, I tell you!

Heavy warrior. All melee, all the time. No stealth play, no magic. Just pure manliness.

A Nord scout type. I'm gonna use those new "Doomstone" things to get "The Thief" bonuses and then ima focus on Light Armor with dual blades as my main weapon and a bow with a little bit of attention to sneak in case I can get the jump on some enemies, and depending on what spells are in what schools of magic and such, I'll have whatever magic seems most appropriate and helpful to back me up.

Iv always played wrong
i was a plate-wearing guy who keept trying to stealth >.< i also played imperial in oblivion

but this time, i will play a stealth Rogue class not a theif more of a stealth assassin Argonian, i wont even touch armor besides maybe gloves and boots but other then that i will wear regular clothing + ...I will spec in speech craft ONLY if it does something

Soo that would make me a Assassin-smooth talker who doesnt wear a shirt =)
