How will you play?

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 1:10 am

First, I'll kill every altmer in Skyrim. Then, I'll save the world. After that, I'll slaughter the dunmer town to pass the time.

Bosmer fan I take it?

well, the first thing i will do when i get the game is start on a different roleplaying path that i didn't/couldn't choose in Oblivion or Morrowind.
But i'm not sure if i should explore the land as i go through quests or just explore after i have done enough quests to convince me enough to explore.
Reason being, is because i like saving the best for last, and exploring is my favorite thing to do in elder scrolls games.

How will I play? With a computer, of course. A keyboard and mouse might be a good thing to have too.

I am going to want to test out the new stealth capabilities. I have always felt that the elder scrolls have lacked in this area in vanilla play and I want to see if they finally are up to par with it ^_^ after all nothing feels better than sneaking up behind your opponent and spilling his blood on the floor in a single swoop...did that sound deranged?

Play the main quest, then restart with a new character using mods for my "real" playthrough.

i have a noob question, are mods only for the pc?

Absolutely 100% yes.

OT : I really hope you can join either the synode, OR the college of whispers. Finding both, and choosing between them will be my character's most defining decision.

My first character is mainly for testing the gameplay. Check the animations, the combat, the dialogue, the transport, the physics, how npcs and guards react to theft, murder, things like these. It's more likely that the second or even third character will actually start doing the quests.
The first quest line I join will be the main quest, for sure. I'll go into it as far as to feel the writing quality and whether it has choices and consequences attached or not.

I'll try to get a lay of tha land and figure out the main players in Skyrim and the main cities, then I'll join a few guilds, get some high end armour, get some companions and finally do the main story, once I've done that I'll probably finish all the guilds and do all the side quests/ level my character to the extreme :)

I'm going to explore on every impulse. I see a dragon landing in a darkened cavern, I go and check it out. I see a couple undead, I hack em up with my blessed silver longsword. I see some poor peasants suffering from a plague/curse, I train my Restoration and cure them.

I'll be so in love with the world that I'll probably not start anything that requires reading and just wander aimlessly for a few good hours sneaking on animals, watching the wolf packs routines, or just staring and taking screenshots and commenting here on the forums in the 1003rd "OMG have you seen this?" thread :D

First playthrough I'll be doing the main quest and probably a few side quests. Mostly I just want to see what the main quest is like, then I'll likely mod the hell out of it.

I'll just play the game and see what happens! My main focus will be exploring but I will probably take on any quest I run into

With a controller, obviously.

Random walking around from place to place, observing creatures and humans and avoiding dragons.

Whats great about Elder Scrolls games is that they throw you in a world that seems like there are so many options for you that you really don't know what to do. The first play through on any Elder Scrolls game is the best because you are required to explore and map out your own unique route. Bethesda have mastered the art of non-linear game play better than other developer in my opinion. So in answer to the question, if I see a rock that looks weird, a bird making some kind of noise off in the distance, or some house that is set in a location that seems odd, I'm going to see what's up. That's what these games are about....incredible graphics, game play, and choices, that require you to see "what's up".

I'll probably do the same thing I did in Oblivion, make friends with as many people in the world and get quests from them.
And when there's no more side quests that I can find, begin with the main quest. Later, get a walkthrough and find the side quests that still remain.

I will come out of the prison, pick a direction and start walking. I plan to not even touch the main quest! My character will most definitely be a Stealth/Magic character with a marksman and destruction focus. After attaining a high level of my desired abilities I'm going to become the see all do all character through the multiple factions, especially thanks to the soft cap on the max level. When I can slash, hack, fireball, arrow, and wear any combination of armor through any situation - I'll then start the main quest. Social life? Pfft.

First, since I just got out of prison where I was falsely accused of something I didn't do, I'll be looking for a place to take a bath. Then I'll be exploring and looking for any kind of fire-resist gear or spell or potion because the dragons breathe fire. (It would be nice to have a little flamethrower dragon icon but we don't have one yet so...) :flamethrower: I'm not worried about the main quest or anything except looking around at first. :)

scaleman: I switched from PS3 to PC for Fallout New Vegas because I wanted to learn to mod. I posted in one of the help forums and people advised me. It wasn't so hard at all; it was easy. There are tutorials and lots of help online. I'm able to install and use a few mods I couldn't do without now and I keep learning. If you do it, you'll love it. It really expands the game. :)

I imagine I'll go through whatever tutorial or set-up process or whatever it is that Skyrim uses. ("Ah... you've arrived. Good.")

Beyond that - I have no idea at all.

Hard to say really, cause I had planned Oblivion, but got caught up in everything from Vilverin to Nirnroot. So it'll be organic for me, doing whatever, whenever. I'll make a Paladin who uses blade, heavy armor, healing, and some other minor stuff like marksman for hunting in my spare time.
