So, after making a fail thread because I haven't read up on the latest information, I decided that I'd make an attempt to redeem my self in making a thread that actually makes sense.
I know that my first character will be a pew pew machine, using all sorts of cool looking magics and such, though to expand a bit I'm probably going to pick an " element " such as Frost or Fire and go through with that.
I haven't really decided yet. I'm thinking of an Imperial who uses sword and shield, a Nord who uses two handed weapons and a Dunmer who uses spells and swords. I have no idea which one I'm going to create and play as first, probably the Nord, but I'll have to wait till I have more details about the game to decide.
I'll test out dual-wielding before I actually make a "real" character, and if it's done well my first character is going to be a dual-wielding barbarian. Otherwise it will probably be a pretty standard warrior character.
I'll be making a light footed blademaster.light armour, dual weild, block, athletics(if still their)Kind of a foot solider. Also good with a bow for ranged murder.
I always start out with a spellsword. I'll have a Sword in one hand and a spell in another. This is going to be the first game where I can truly be a spellsword. In Morrowind you couldn't really be a spellsword seeing as how spells and weapons were separate. In Oblivion, you got closer, but if you were using spells there was no reason to use sword most of the time. Now in Skyrim, I can use a sword and spell simultaneously and to good effect.
Stealth/Illusion Find most favorable position to attack/defend from Poison arrow sneak attack ideal start Magic to attempt to keep them at a distance Small blade if/when they get close Illusion + Athletics if I'm in over my head Restoration/Alchemy(Healing pots) to recuperate any damage afterward
Pretty much fight as dirty/cheap as possible and run like a coward when it doesn't work.
I'm going to continue my current Oblivion play-style: Stealthy Mage. Using my characters right hand for a shortsword and the left possibly switching between a dagger or shordsword and spells. Though definitely spells.
A mix of the Juggernaut and the Paladin, remove any offensive spells from the paladin and give my Juggernaut a mace with his shield and you got my character. I′m going for the ultimate defense at the cost of any or even all damage, if I must only do 1 damage each hit to have the best possible defense then so be it, I′m taking heavy armor, block, alteration, restoration, armorer(smith ?) and conjuration (1 enemy hitting me and 1 hitting conjured animal = more defensive than 2 enemies hitting me) and then blunt (or 1-h) with skill with a mace I may be able to bash my enemy away or stun him (and that makes him do less damage to me).
Any opportunity I can find to take less damage I will take... heck I may even go into destruction if only to cast a "damage strength" spell on my enemies, but that would be one of the last things on my list of skills to level up.
Some sort of rustic survivalist character. Marksman, short blade, alchemy, armorer, light armor, security, sneak, and possibly illusion. (Assuming those skills are present. If not, something akin to it.) I will roam the land living off the beasts and plant life I find, and bartering my way to survival where I may.
First time through I'm going for Juggernaut. Always has been my preferred style of play in Oblivion. After that I want to try something that mixes archery and magic, maybe with a touch of blade in there for good measure, although it depends what the game is like.
