Are some of you thinking that Obsidian will actually develop? I could see consulting at most, but I could be wrong.
I am pretty down for Fallout 4, regardless of who makes it.
I had a great time with F3 and NV, cause I'm cool like that.

I believe Bethesda stated that they wanted to develop Fallout 4, but that could have changed.

Personally I don't care as long as whoever develops it worked on some of their weaknesses. For Bethesda its writing, for Obsidian (in my view) its world-building.

Hm...at first...my reaction would have been pure excitement (and perhaps I would have shed some tears of happiness as well) but after thinking it through, I would be skeptical. However, if the game takes place at the Commonwealth I would scream. The Commonwealth and the Institute were mentioned far too many times in Fallout 3 to just be left alone (and overall, it's would be different). If the game takes place again in the West Coast or in the Midwest I would probably just shoot myself.

'nuff said.

I must be the only one who doesn't want Obsidian developing the game. I admit I only played a few Obsidian games (Alpha Protocol, KOTOR 2, and Fallout: NV) but all of their games had terribly boring worlds, game-breaking bugs, and unoriginal gameplay features. Sure their story is nice, but I don't really feel like paying $60 for a story I may or may not see to the end due to bugs. I HATE Bethesda's writing (when an FPS delivers better story than an RPG you know you're in trouble) but I admit that I have wasted countless days in Fallout 3 while Fallout NV gathered dust.

Now if Bethesda created the gameplay, the world, and the features while allowing Obsidian to focus on the story (and preferably nothing else) then my reaction would be :disguise:

well isnt it already announced pretty much, theres not really a surprise to it... If its like skyrim ill watch the teaser with trepidation and wait for some gameplay trailers. Though if it ends with Fallout 4 and Obsidian Entertainment ill get excited.

there is one, its on youtube and it has the bethesda copyright and everything and its been up for about 4 months now

How would the game taking place in the commonwealth be different from Fallout 3? It would be on the East Coast and I can picture the main quest now. The Replicated Man mixed in with Head of State

So long as there is no Brotherhood, Enclave or Super Mutants, I would react to the news of the game taking place in the Commonwealth is a smile. The Main quest IMO would be predictable but many new Factions would be welcome.

You seem to forget that the Institute which is where presumably a bulk of the Androids and slavery stuff take place, is just a small portion of the Commonwealth, there's so much more they can surprise us with. If anything I would imagine the Institute playing but a minor role if Fallout 4 is set in the Commonwealth.

Have a miniature panic attack and then research and speculate the crap out of the trailer and any other info I can get, I'll be on edge for months and I'll try to forget about the game entirely but I won't be able to. The suspense will consume me. This game series will make me die an early death :cryvaultboy:

"You humans are going to have a full-fledged rebellion on your hands if you don't start treating us Synths as persons." ~A3-21, A.K.A. "Harkness"

I for one happen to like both those quests, Replicated Man more so.

But while I'm hoping for the Institute to be the launching pad of Fallout 4, it could still play a small but significant role. Remember, Zimmer and his bodyguard aren't aggressive and would only attack the Lone Wanderer if they are attacked first. Not only that but Harkness, depending on your choice, doesn't go after Zimmer. Imagine being asked by the Institute to find a Android who can FIGHT BACK and has a lot influence. That Android would want freedom for his/her brethren (as well as destroying the Institute) but would use violence to get it done while the Railroad Movement wouldn't want to use violence. Both groups would want what is best for the Androids but have completely different ways of getting things done; that would put them at odds. Plus, imagine the Institute, with its secrecy and high-technology, being envied by the average Wastelander. There would be those bent on taking over that place and thus would add complications (Factions anyone?). The Institute could symbolize stability while Wastelanders could represent instability. These two different views would of course clash. One side wants to keep to themselves while others would want to use the former's tech for survival...or war. There is potential. :disguise:

However, I want the Brotherhood and the Super Mutants to be limited and not have a big role. Enclave as well but the Commonwealth is the place where the Revolutionary War began; some remnants might go there to think things over (symbolic) but NOT cause another "pure genetics" war crap. I want to see Enclave members questioning their direction and would want to move on (start anew). I'm tired of seeing "Enclave=Evil [censored]". That's why I was pleasantly surprised in New Vegas. I would soooo want a former Enclave Officer (preferably female :P) to be a companion. He/she can even have a backstory where they reveal that they were at the Adams Air Force.

If there is a MWBoS soldier or symbol in the tailer, I would hit the roof with joy. If there is mention of Barnaky or Mutant Liberation Army.. I'll drive down to Bethesda HQ and Bear Hug the Devs. Thats if I can get past security guy at the front desk :fallout:

This completely. If it is like the FO3 or NV teaser trailers, I will geek out and jump out of my chair screaming for joy. Pack up the car and drive down to Rockville, MD to worship the ground they walk on....

Maybe not that exactly but it will be damn close.

I won't lie, scepticism and wearyness will likely be my first reactions (although possibly spiced with some honest interest about if they've learned anything from the past two games' rights and wrongs).

This for me, I'll hold my excitement until I get details. I'll have really no interest in it if it continues down the "gamesas progression" of mediocre writing and quest lines and simplified gameplay.

Hope people will actually understand that that teaser trailer is actually fake, it's not even well made at all for being an official teaser! On another note, the second top rated comment there is mine, hope people actually read it! (or I bet they do, I get all kinds of weird replies :( )

Nope, it's development hasn't even been announced, so your current knowledge of the game is a lie.
