How will you start off?

Post » Mon Jul 05, 2010 5:19 am

I'm pretty sure we're all aware that you can gain XP by playing online AND/OR offline. My question is whether you will jump right into the multiplayer or play alone to start off? Either way you can complete the entire campaign. I think I'm going to stay away from multiplayer until I'm completely satisfied with my character and have gotten a good enough feel for the game.

Hopefully I'll have my friends joining me in coop-campaign early on.

I think i will gather a team of friends and play the campaign all the way through in CO-OP before hopping online. It will be really hard to resist jumping online Vs. ASAP though.

If your plan involves getting to a high level before going online, you may want to consider making a new character when you finally start playing PvP. It will be much easier to get used to the PvP part of the game vs level 1s than trying to figure out the differences while playing a bunch of people who have been PvPing all the way up to level 20.

True, I forgot about the {1-5} 5-10} {10-15} {15-20} Bracket system, I wasn't going to wait but I'd probably be level X with a complete play-through. Good thinking.

I know when I first get it, my friends are going to be asking me to play online with them (probably co-op through the campaign) and like every other time I get a new game, I will feel reluctant to join them. Usually when I get a new game, enjoy it at my own pace without interruption, and soak it all in.

Maybe true, but the Devs did say during one of their demo play throughs. Some of the people playing the game did not realize they were playing against the A.I and got upset (for lack of a better word) because of how good the AI was. So i think playing solo against the AI will be plenty of preparation for online, even if you start off at lvl 20.

I'm not exactly sure how I'll start. I mean obviously the game is meant for Multiplayer, but I do love a good story. So that leads me to a question: When you play campaign on the internet, do you still get the story? And I've read the compendium and stuff, I'm pretty obsessed, I'm just not exactly sure how that part plays out.

Well you have to beat out H0RSE and Jess Alon for starters. Good luck.
