How would you go about invading Alinor?

Post » Mon May 06, 2013 2:32 am

1. Rebuild Numidium

2. Make no secret of desire to use Numidium just like Talos after devastating Thalmor Allied Provinces during reaquisition of Valenwood and Elsweyr.

3. Give the Altmer a deadline to surrender under terms similiar to WGC, with deadline.

4. Enforce deadline by smashing Thalmor Naval forces with Numidium and Imperial Navy.

5. attempt to use Psijic Order to save innocents, and begin military invasion, ask Hammerfell to join the party.

First thing to do would be to gain allies. The Redguards would be the first choice, they hate the Dominion. The Bosmer would be the second choice, since at least some of them are bound to hate the Thalmor. The Maormer may be worth looking into, but that runs the risk of causing massive collateral damage and possibly antagonizing the Psijics. The East Empire Company also able to be convinced to lend some of their ships, depending on how things are. The Sload would probably be a bad idea to try and enlist, as they're basically the TES equivalent of the Hutts, thus any deal made with them will probably end up coming back to bite you.

As for weapons, the Siege Crawler may be worth fixing up. I don't know the feasibility of rebuilding Numidium, since we've not really had much information on what's left of it ever since that whole Warp in the West business (especially considering the Underking presumably recovered his heart), but it would be an unstoppable trump card if you could somehow get it up and running. And of course, the Imperial Battlemages would be extremely useful, given the feats they pulled off during the admittedly disastrous invasion of Akavir, such as remote communication and enabling ships to safely sail through storms, in addition to their more conventional uses.

The Altmer command the strongest navy in the world. Any sea battle against them is going to be an uphill battle.

Your best bet is to get the Altmer navy to defect.

You do know that Liches are mages who made themselves immortal through some kind of ritual? They are like vampires just superior to them. They retain their consciousness and are not mindless and therefore uncontrollable. Just wanted to point that out. They are not normal undead.

So in theory they could do the battle but good luck convincing them to do it in the first place.

Has nobody thought about what the British did to the Spanish Armada? Create small but very fast ships. Lure Alinor's navy out. Send in hundreds of small fast ships on fire to set fire to the Elven ships. Once the navy has been defeated, send the main Imperial navy to Alinor.

It's war. Either way, you'll step on toes. If you want to invade Alinor, you first have to cut off any of its mainland forces that can readily assist them.

As for self-sufficiency...its turned into a nation encompassing both an island as well as a large province. Chances are, it is very reliant on trade with Valenwood and Elsweyr. They might survive, but it'll hurt. This will also hinder their navy, as they would no longer be able to import materials. As their Navy weakens, you indirectly attack their agriculture with disease and vermin, damaging their food supply and further weakening their military and Naval strength.

For good measure, I would probably fund Redguard pirates to terrorize the Valenwood coast.

Point being, to take down the Thalmor, you'd have to weaken their infrastructure.

They could be bribed then or convinced. I would convince them of all the secret arcane knowledge that might be there. Tell them that it is all there's and if they don't stick their noses in our business we will let them do as they will. (And no lol I wouldn't actually let them.)

Besides the other choice I said which would be more preferable anyways are the corrupt Elder Council members.

What would you use to power Numidium? There is no mantella or heart of lorkhan to power it.

I doubt that Sunbirds would come into play, they'd probably just continuing to exist in the back of the lore but not actually coming into prominence. If they do, the Imperials have void-faring mothships to combat them.

It was great because they constantly had to fight the Maormer. As far as we know, we've not heard from them since the War of the Isle back in 3E110, giving the Altmer plenty of time for their naval skills to lapse. Plus, the Empire has assembled some impressive fleets of their own, such as Uriel V's Akavir invasion fleet.

Ally with Hammerfell and Highrock. Cyrodiil can come too if they learn that they're completely inferior and will be completely destroyed if they ever try to conquer anything ever again.

Conquer dragons.

Take dragons and sail to Summerset.

Wholesale slaughter of race.

Victory achieved.

I don't think it's possible to actually destroy the heart of lorkhan (on account of it being the essence of a Daedric Prince, so I'm sure it exists in some capacity somewhere.

We Dunmer are no longer part of the Empire. We would require significant compensation for our assistance.

First pick of the plunder when we raze Alinor would suffice I think.

The Maomer would like five minutes for rebuttal, please.

And than everyone would look at you as a genocidal maniac and rise up against you because of your genocidal evil, not all of the altmer are Thalmor supporters.

Talos won't do anything, the Divines have little interaction with the mortal races anymore.
