How would you have liked to see Skyrim end?

...by travelling in time and assassinating Tiber Septim so all this mess can be avoided?

I would love it to end with dragons, Imperials, and Stormcloaks fighting the Thalmor at the top of the throat of the world with the Dovahkiin joining in at the last second along with the Blades. epic battle would be epic if it could work.

Well Miraak was the one who wanted to kill the DB in the first place. and don't forget that he's an evil power hungry manic.

And by seeking the power to defeat him, you may end up being not so different from him. After all, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. And since you didn't sacrificed your life against Alduin...

Honestly Miraak didn't really do anything bad. He was consumed by his desire for power. And now he wants out of Apocrypha. So?

But who knows what he could do with some random newfound power...

I would have added some sort of dialogue after alduin's defeat along with a statue like they did in dragon age. When you get married people who you helped show up at your wedding. Something like that could have been done along a parade walk or a set location such as near the wedding area in solitude. The statue could have been something generalized or 1 page book etc

Honestly, I think I would've ended it just as Bethesda did it. Would I have liked more DLC? Sure.

Todd could show up at my house and hand deliver more DLC and I'd just open my wallet and tell him to take whatever he wanted. But ending Skyrim completely open like they did is actually more beneficial to my RP.

I RP very deeply, and this allows me to end things and drive my RP along with no foregone conclusions taking certain adventures out of my hands. I think this ending works just fine.

I would have liked to end it with those dangerously close, looming moons/planets crashing into the surface of Mundus and forever changing the face of the planet; while conveniently wiping out the Aldmeri Dominion and their allies.
After helping to "rebuild" (nothing will ever be the same, but you know what I mean) the LDB goes off to explore the other planets (as they weren't destroyed, they're just now melded into Mundus) and see what secrets they hold.

A very Nerevarine ending.

EDIT: for the record, am I the only one who plans on retiring my first character (he's a Nord, so it works) by porting him to PC, placing him in Sovngarde (after using console commands to open it up so he's not just f*cked over by locked doors and all that) and porting him back to Xbox? I figured I'd roleplay that he wasn't killed, but he simply allowed himself to fade from the mortal world and pass on.

No. It's a disjointed mess and not satisfying.

His goal was to get everyone to worship him. As Njodr mentioned though, no one would be willing worship Miraak, and Bend Will is the only way to bring his plan into fruition.

What he could do wasn't the issue. You said "way to be no better than Miraak" but he hasn't really done anything. Wasn't much of a villain.

Yes but he never really got a chance to do much besides control people. Wasn't all that bad really, and my statement about absorbing Alduin surely didn't make me worse than him. I don't really see whats wrong with that anyway.
