How would you improve Skyrim?

What would make this great game better?

For me?

Better writing and longer duration for the faction quests.

More monster variety.

More Daedra to summon.

3 ways

1. More overland humanoid monsters, skyrim is huge, so why is it 90% empty outside of caves, ruins and forts? Where are the goblins, where are the minotaurs, and where are the other monsters that roam

2. Better record keeping with NPCs. I i am the leader of an organization people should recognize that fact and alter their words and attitudes. I shouldnt be treated the same as a newbie and as the leader. Also guards should not incorrectly state that my best skill is something that i have a 12

3. A town building mini game.

Start with a shell of a town, doing quests, and bringing materials back slowly builds up a town that goes from 3 or 4 burned out building to a town that rivals white run in size

Any jack az can just say more content, detail or depth.

For me it's two things.
Removal of perk limitation points or have separate full blown classes where characters can't access certain skills.

Quick wheel, pausing menu is terrible

More summons, removal of children completely, pets other than dogs. Oh and fix the plethora of quest bugs, I don't care if the graphics lag or the textures blow. Quest bugs are where I'm getting annoyed, constant quest bugs.

Better writing, longer questlines, branching questlines

Skills being more relevant in conversations/non combat situations

More enemy variety and better enemy difficulty

Enemies with better and more varied tactics/AI...use of abilities, items, racial powers etc

Challenging post level 50 content

Better dragon encounters

Alduin being a real storyline boss, and not a copy+pasted ancient dragon with a different skin

Better mechanics/gameplay balance

Removal of essential tag

1 simply thing for me; An oblivion crisis in Skyrim.

Yeah I know people complained the oblivon gates were overdone in the previous game, but I liked it. It made the game seem twice as big, as your transporting to another realm and if your playing it as intended it can take a while each time as some of them were huge.

I want more long ass missions and content, and Oblivion gates popping up is an easy way to do it.

Improvement on all skills and addition of other skills.

1. The cooking/wood cutting/grinding should improve something, not just being an activity.
2. There are a bunch of embalming tools, wrappers, papers, ink, etc...they are clutter, but what if...I can make my own zombie from different body parts, or how about writing spell scrolls? The ones you can only use once, but you could actually write them yourself?
3. Let me destroy my useless /obsolote weapons and use the parts to either melt it back in into steel (like in reality for example) or use its pieces to construct a new one?
4. Let me use my mage staff as a physical weapon! Like Gandalf! This time it wouldn't shoot anything out, but the enchantment would act like it acts in a sword, make it like a 2 handed weapon.

5. My hands are burning while carrying the incinerate spell, let me turn the torches on fire, or how about let me turn things made out of wood on fire!

6. There are a bunch of burnt corpses around in dungeons, and yet my fire spell won't burn anyone into charcoal!

7. Meteor shower/more (real) storm spells, hurricane, tornado, lava, volcano etc.

8. Let me cast a spell that gives a big dome of protecting ward around me and my companion! (Mass Effect 2 anyone?)

9. Let me throw knives?

10. The wilderness is more deadly than a dragon. Bears/wolves/trolls are a constant danger to me AND the NPCs, some of them are important, but they get slaughtered by the wildlife sometimes! Reduce the number of these animals or make them less agressive. I would make less of them and put them on more remote areas, perhaps this way they would give away something valuable, while they would be harder to kill as well.

11. Remove this eye adjusting effect .. it svcks, that my mage can have a burning fire in his palm, and yet he gets blinded by the sun. Sure it looks "cool" for about
5 minutes into the game and later it's just annoying.

12. Each or most skill should be multiple levels. Armsman 5/5 is ok, but let's say "extra effect" for enchanters, should be 5/5, meaning 5 enchantments as max.

13. MORE ROBES and HOODS! Even with the current robes and hoods, we are missing the expert and master hoods! There are none!

One of the things I love most about Skyrim is there are no farking gates.

I want more recipes and more benefit (in some way) from food. And followers that don't die on me. And the ability to actually be a bard.

1) I would make so that the dragonborn's choices are reflected and actually mean something..... doesn't have to be voices....i am quite happy with ditching the voices for more immersion gameplay wise.....

2) Power up the dragons so that a lone forest troll doesn't kill them....

3) Sack the Bethesda team that did TES-V.....expect for the team in charge of marakth and the city quests....

Mods for the win. PC for the win! :)

A mod about EXACTLY this is available for Fallout 3 and NV. Possibly for Oblivion too (don't actually know). So... Skyrim will have it too!

PS: PC FOR THE WIN! :foodndrink:

I would not mind them having spent more time balancing the various skills better. Destruction svcks at higher levels and is quickly outperformed by any weapon even at middle levels.

Better NPCs and better VA. 70 voice actors all using the same voice again and again. Can't they at least try some different pitches and such?

Children of every race who actually act like children in a medieval setting. Not these stuck up brats...

Better feeling of progression and impact in all quest lines. Not just have me feeling like I am following the white little carrot...and then there is no visceral pay off to being the Archmage or Harbinger. Make us feel like we earned something.

1. Optimization (since I shouldn't be crashing with complete vanilla at all)

2. Optimization (that important)

3. Bug squashes from blue texture bug too the undoable quests

Top 3 really.. only one that matters now

PS3 or PC?

They did not do a good job with optimization or bug testing at all... :shakehead:

Maybe with longer questlines....all of them were amazingly short (especially the ones apart from the MQ).

all platforms ideally but for me I only have experience with PC the 4GB helped although I still get crashes from time to time but no matter what my i5 2500k & 580 should not be crashing let alone slow down playing Skyrim on vanilla ultra. But alas it does

I have very few complaints, but would have liked more variety and sense of building drama in the civil war quest line.

My main wish is to see more consequence after the fact. It feels like certain characters should acknowledge major events and they don't. Example- no dialogue with Ulfric about the dragon crisis. I also wanted some more consequence in the civil war, such as the ability to have a political appointment that's similar to becoming Arch Mage or Harbinger. I had a character who was mostly involved in the civil war, but there was very little payoff at the end.

My PC should be on High with some Ultra but I am running High with some medium. Kinda of svcks and the shadows are very very bad.

Lol kind of why I made it myself. Wanted to get some ideas for mods that would improve the game without really changing the lore or anything like that.

My biggest beef with the game is that some NPC's are invulnerable. I wish they gave you a simple toggle under gameplay options to disable NPC invulnerability. Other than this, its a flawless game imo.

Maybe we could list stuff that might actually happen, and also I doubt fireing around 200 people would help anything.
Just tired of reading these kinds of posts. -_-

Anyways
1. Longer better written questlines.
2. Faction rank precedence. Like for example, if I'm a Legate of the Imperial Legion guards shouldn't be saying stuff like "what do you do? Fetch the mead?"
3. Bring back spell making.

While I like the idea of favorites and the quick menu, it got to be useless real quick because so many different things fit in it. It's nearly as much trouble as loading and going through the individual pages, which also require too many inputs to get where I want to be. Maybe others are lean and mean, but I'd really like separate favorites for spells, weapons, etc.

Also, I'd love to be able to buy or take some of those damn bags that are all over the place. No, not some silly bag of holding, just a way to organize all the crap my character is lugging around so I can put all the armor, for example, that she wants to sell in one place that's different from what she wears. I'd really like a "junk" category, but even Origin had bags you could put stuff back in back in 1990!

Oh, and this will never happen, but I'd really like to be able to talk to my companions, especially the ThaneCarl types. I know many people want to kill or bed them, but my character wants to ask Lydia how she feels about swimming across the oceans, walking all over Skyrim, riding over waterfalls, running up mountains, etc etc etc. Was that all part of her carl training, is it what she signed up for, and how the hell did she get this crappy job, anyway??!? She's gotta have some thoughts about things, and my char would love to ask her "What do you think we should do next?" or even "Anyplace you want to go?"
