How would you like "late-game" content to be like?

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 10:25 am

Lets face it, once we've got adequate defences against Deathclaws,

the game is basically at its end-game status.

There is literally nothing more to do, other then tweaking, minor vault management and "super-soldiers" breeding if you're into that.

What new end-game / late-game content would you like to see in a future patch?

Share your ideas~ I'd love to see what ya'll think.

Would love to be able to send peopel out to trade with other vaults, can set timers to get there. Def can add a LOT of different rooms. We have a ton of space inside our vaults for stuff. Even with the checker board pattern of building. Add in more ways to get caps too. More weapons, more unique weapons, etc.

I disagree with trading with other vaults as that can lead to all sorts of problems by those who try to cheat the system. For example; Start a vault, do the starter quests that give you lunchboxes and then trade with another vault(could be a friend's or it could be one of yours, depending on how the developers set that up), delete vault and repeat. They would have to put in some severe limitations or dissentivize stuff like this from happening, like maybe make trading cost money.

Edit: Also, the trading isn't really "end-game content", Its just a feature that you want.

At the point when you have such high level dwellers and gear, and no disaster lasts longer than 10 seconds, even new "elite difficulty" content would be blown apart. Perhaps being able to send a group of dwellers to make it to a special target, but even then, it would be a group of max stat 50's with fat mans. New content of any kind would be nice, but would most likely not be a challenge, and if it were a challenge, only the most eltie of us would be able to play, and so the rest would pitch a fit.

Anything else new, interesting, fun and engrossing would take straight up brand new in depth development. I'm already making a little web tool to show the combination of hair styles and beards available so I, and others, can customize our dwellers. Now, if Bethesda would create some kind of hair, face and clothing editor, that would be fun. Right now there is only 1 male and 1 female face. Different colored clothing, that's all a bunch of Sim City type stuff though. Trophies for creatures killed in the wasteland... just no leader boards that would be hacked within 30 minutes of being established.

There could be quests to look for sets of items, that when combined would create a new weapon, outfit or room.

If you encounter a Super Mutant Master and fail to kill it, it comes for your vault, same for Deathclaws.

Perma-death for dwellers.

Expansion to 400 dwellers, and into the mountain above with Vertibirds to retrieve dwellers that are far out there, but only if you collect all of the vertibird parts from the NGA or an objective 100+ hours out.

In the end though, it still will become a quest to have everyone maxxed out: 644HP level 50 with 10 in each SPECIAL, legendary outfits and weapons for all.

Being able to raid someone else's vault - muahahhaa. So, a special mode where you have a limited amount of points to put into SPECIAL for dwellers to raid each other or just raid a target in the wasteland.

A minimap of distant targets, bases to fortify... but now really we're talking about making a HUGE app that would probably crush most devices, but I can dream.

I was not talking live people multiplayer trading, i ment trading with npc vaults, maybe the further your travel like now the better trading you can do.

How about something as simple as an increased chance to gain legendary weapons, dwellers and outfits from the lunchboxes, and a decreased chance of garbage boxes?

My big vault (442) has 116 dwellers, three three-wide level 2 nuclear power plants, a Nuka Cola bottler and 300,000 caps. Raiders die about 10 seconds after they enter my second room (a three-wide storage depot) and deathclaws never make it off the first floor. At this stage of the game, I simply do not need 100 caps, 50 power, a set of initiate's robes and 500 caps. But that's what I got in my last in-game lunch box. :stare: I could accept getting that kind of crap every now and then, but it happens all the frickin' time.

One room I'd really like to see would be a Mr Handy Repair Room. I'd like to see it being very expensive, with maybe multiple SPECIAL requirements (Intelligence and Strength?). What it would do would be to slowly repair damaged Mr Handy's. It's so frustrating having to wait until they blow up. I don't mind the CAP cost, but they always go at the worst possible time; they get whittled down over a load of low-level incidents, and then they're left with a slither of health when a big threat comes and blow up instantly.

Another function of the room could be to give the Mr Handy's more functions as the room levels up; Stim-Pack distribution at the first increase and then Level/Training collection at the second, but make the room upgrades massively expensive.

End game objective I imagine: Have some offsprings with inherited abilities (apart from current Endurance SPECIAL) to live unharmed outside of the vault. You should in-breed many generartions of dwellers to enhance such ability. create "new type" of human being who is the fittest for the new Fallout world. Selective mating like dog or race horse breeding. And some DNA research or gene manipulation of course. It has nothing to do with the training but only heredity. Aquired one is not inherited. Human Enhancement Project that consumes massive amount of resources and intelligent persons and caps. It is kind of Eugenics experiment. Very becoming to Fallout world.

Would love to be able to carry out "experiments" on the vaults.

Pera-Death for dwellers (only if they added the ability to auto-stim dwellers once they drop below 25% health or only if they die out in the wasteland.

More rooms with multiple stats needed or give some functionality to the early rooms rather than just replace all food/water and power rooms with Nuclear reactors and nuka-cola plants. give the vault a little variety

Have room failures where you have to explore to find replacement parts. Find replacement water chip or fix a radiation leak in your nuclear plant. Having damaged rooms can cause your dwellers to slowly gain radiation giving you a reason to use rad-away in the vault

have dwellers turn into ghouls if they are exposed to steady radiation over an extended amount of time. If a dweller becomes a ghoul there is a chance they will go feral and attack other dwellers or damage rooms

While in the wasteland there is a chance your dweller could get exposed to the FEV virus and become a super-mutant

once you hit 200 dwellers you can use the vaults G.E.C.K. and start your own above ground colony

And how about building space rocket to escape the earth and construct off world colony on Mars.

Building rocket and constructing Mars colony will be good sink for overflowing material and human resource at later stage. Population exceeding 200 will be sent to Mars colony construction site.

Point of games like this is build-up. If they add new things, once you're done... well... that is it.
