As said in the previous thread, invisible walls are fine. They can easily be disabled, and I want to be able to add new regions (like Cyrodiil for instance) to Skyrim without natural borders getting in the way.
There are hundreds of mods which add new regions to Oblivion (some better than others obviously). Some of the most popular ones have been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times... so yes, it's going to affect more than just a few keen modders / mod users.
Ah, ok. I did have a (very) brief look on TESNexus, and most of the ones I saw were new worldspaces. I obviously didn't look properly . Just shows, the quickest way to make an ass of oneself is to join a discussion without doing proper research
.
Man, the braying on these forums is deafening
!
Anyway, I still personally prefer the idea of having a clear visual cue of impassibility along with the invisible walls, but I concede that mountainous barriers would be a problem for modding.
Perhaps have a scattering of collapsed bridges in the otherwise impassible mountains, that modders can 'repair' if they so wish?
