How would you survive a Zombie Apocalypse

Post » Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:14 am

I made a quick list of places NOT to try and visit when zombies hit, along with a little reason why.

1. Hospitals: They'll have tons of people already infected, and the living dead will own the hospitals all around.

2. Office Buildings: The zombies will probably have found a way up during the chaos, and almost every floor could be a potential risk for zombies greeting you at the top of the stairs.

3. Malls: Plenty of people go to malls, and they'll probably already be held up there. In times of chaos, no matter who you are or where you live, people are not the sharing type. People become selfish, and will want the mall to themselves.

4. Military Bases: Like I've said before, the bases have protocols in measure to deal with biological, chemical, and civil unrest. If the base isn't already full of infected when you get there, than they're not going to be letting some stranger walk up to the gates and be let in. They'll turn you away.

5. Grocery Stores: People will probably flock there first, and if there's any food left from all the rioting and taking of supplies. People aren't going to share.

6. Bulk Stores: Places like Costco, Sam's Club, and other places will probably be locked down or empty of their supplies.

7. Prisons: They may or may not be full of either inmates or inmates now turned zombie. Though for defensive purposes, they could be nice. But someone could just blow through the gates if they wanted your stuff?

add this on the end of the paragraph of what the florida survivors will do.

Spork the Slightly Insane will try to contact other forumers in the north, they will meet up in louisville and commandeer a casino boat, they will take it down the Mississppi river picking up other forumers on the way, then they will take shrimping boats from harbors at New Orleans. They will sail this boat down the coast of Florida until they near the town of Fort Myers, then they will head SW towards the Dry Tortugas and meet up with the Florida Survivor group there.

and also add the name of the leader of each stronghold next to the name of the stronghold for example

Texas Stronghold Leader---Verlox

If you'll be in the Louisville area then I'd join up on that boat.

Alrighty then. The plan is to meet up at Joe's Crab Shack with the other survivors coming with me before we steal the boat.

Also, I just found out riverboats are slower than a retarded turtle.

I'm gonna hang with DEFRON in Alaska.
They were headed there in Resident Evil 3, maybe I can hook up with Claire Redfield, or an Alice clone... or tons of Alice/Milla J clones. That would be nice.

I already said the oregon base is on a bridge over 99E
if that fails we can retreat to an electrical plant surrounded by barbed wire

What mountain range is a better place to be? The Rockys or the Appalachians? Keep in mind that I live only a few hours away form the latter. Plus in the Appalachians we have Hillbillys (Mountain folk), and no Hillbilly can be a Hillbilly without a shotgun.

And believe me, they still exist.

Migrate to northern Alaska and live in the woods. I would learn how to survive in nature!

To add on to that, I would be chilling with the rest of the peeps in Alaska.

rmctagg09 time to update again :)

and also i saw a post earlier talking about the virus being airborne, so now would be a good time for us to decide whether if its airborne or not and then get Verlox (see i spelled it right this time) to right up one of thos classification sheets for the zombies and then have rmctagg09 add it to the main post.

i vote no for the airborne virus.

Contact is much more easier to avoid and seems more likely, spread through the blood like in regular zombie films. Also what should be the amount of time it takes to turn after becoming infected?

20 hours before death. I'm not sure how long it takes for reanimation, but reanimation is limited to humans.
Edit: http://zombie.wikia.com/wiki/Solanum all you need to know about the virus.

I think depending if it's something like a scratch or small bite. Maybe seven to eight hours. If it's something like a serious bite or scratch, than less than an hour since it's hit more of the victim quicker.

That is some crazy virus. Thanks for that though, cause that is really interesting!

Solanum is a totally awesome communicable virus that causes death and reanimation, or in other words, zombification.

LOL, "...it is a totally awesome...."
