What are some good ideas for sustaining a colony without having to do constant raids?

Current plan

The current plan is that some of the American forumers will go to Alaska and set up a base there with Summer, some of the other American forumers are going to go to Florida and steal a huge boat and sail it to England. The forumers in the south of England will go to Portsmoth and steal a boat there and meet the forumers coming to England and the forumers in the north of England will go to a good defensive area near the coast of england (this needs to be decided) and wait to be picked up by either TeeHees ship or PeaceBullets ship. Then we go to Haiti (possibly picking up some other forumers on the way) and meet up with Dogsbody and learn how to become Bokors (sorcerers) then we will either stay in Haiti or go to another Island. Now we need a Island to go to which has a low population but good farming land that will be easy to get to Haiti from. I suggest the Falkland islands, lol pop and is used primarily for farming and is offshore from the mainland of South America where we could eventually set up farms.

rmctagg09 will travel to Georgia and meet up with deadspartan24 and then on to Florida to start the Florida survivors group with aSaPp!5@ and Top Killa, they will wait until they have enough man power and supplies then go take some sailboats from a marina on the gulf coast and then make their way down to the Dry Tortugas where they will occupy the old spanish fort there until it becomes no longer safe, then they will find transport to the Texel stronghold. Spork the Slightly Insane will try to contact other forumers in the north, they will meet up in louisville and commandeer a casino boat, they will take it down the Mississppi river picking up other forumers on the way, then they will take shrimping boats from harbors at New Orleans. They will sail this boat down the coast of Florida until they near the town of Fort Myers, then they will head SW towards the Dry Tortugas and meet up with the Florida Survivor group there.

Verlox will start a colony in the middle of nowhere in Texas, look for his Golem and the BBQ to find them.

Dr. Strangelove will start his carnival in the Sierra Nevada mountains to provide post apocalyptic entertainment for the entire family.

Old_Andy will set up a heavily fortified base on Texel for European forumers and anyone who can make it there alive.

WanderingRogue will go to the Trafford centre, then after a week or 2 him and any other survivors will use some trucks to get down to Salford quays and steal a canol boat. Then load the boat up with all their stuff and live on it for a short a few weeks (maybe a month) he will need some one (undecided at the moment)on the boat to tell him and any other survivors that your coming for pickup. Then they'll sail out of England via a canol and will meet the ship near the mainland. The codeword for recognition, is Fishy Sitck.

Alright here's my plan:

Since I'm the Virus itself I have nowhere to go. My life is hell, where I'll burn in it. The only thing I can do is transform other. I want to build a mighty army of mine and conquer the world with. Empty the world from living and replace it with dead. I have two method for doing so:

1.Convince others to join me
2.Transform them by force

Where's the Australian forts?! Oh well my plan will be to go check my close friends/family for their status. After that I will go find as many guns and ammunition as I can and head to the local marina, grabbing the biggest yacht that I can find and stockpilling food and water. After that I will head to either an uninhabited island in the tropics (if I have female company with me :hubbahubba:) or one of the forts, whichever I can verify safe.

A 5th thread !?! My internet cracked for only an hour :brokencomputer:. I hope the internet doesnt fail when the outbreak starts...

Im in the south east of england, so in order to get to TeeHee:3 boat, im gonna have to get a car and drive a heck of a long way. I know im getting a jeep, but will need lots of food, and a lot of homeade weapons, as guns arent common round here. My chances of surviavl are getting slimmer and slimmer....

If look at the first post of the first thread then you'll see me as the OP

I already live in a rural area, so it wouldn't take me long to wipe out my zombified neighbors (using a combination of machetes attached to the ends of a bo staff).

After that, I would hit the local grocery store and head over to the county's emergency response bunker. From there I can snipe any zombies that approach, and if the perimeter is breached simply go inside the bunker.

You could all just come to my town (Girvan) in Scotland. There's a harbour, loads of boats, and a volcanic plug called Ailsa Craig floats about a mile off shore. I call dibbs on the Lifeboat though

No one stays in Ailsa Craig either, its just filled with strange penguin bird things (the name escapes me) and not many people would think of going there. Every time we need supplies we can just take a few small boats to the River Girvan, sail up it, park behind Asda, then raid the place.

Thats a hell of a drive for someone in Essix. But with my Range Rover or Hummer (if i find one), i could get to you within a day or two, bearing in mind there are around 40 million zombies between us . The boat idea sounds the best but getting aboard the boat is gonna be hard, if theres a vehicle dock then maybe it would be easier, but the forumers here will need to kill the zombies on and around the boat, and explain to the ship staff (if they are not infected) why we are stealing their boat.
