How do you add a new voice type

Post » Sat Dec 04, 2010 2:56 am

I'm lost here.
I have new voices to use for various actors in game. They work, that is not the problem
Is it possible to add a new voice type to the voice type list to be able to select it directly when creating the character or creature ?

I tried many times but only the default ones appear. Even after deleting the voices.bsa and menuvoices.bsa the default voices still appear but never the new ones.

I'm not sure if it will allow you to change the default voices or if it's a good idea, but have you looked at http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5561

Yes, it is possible to create a new voice type. You need to go into the GECK and under Character you will find Voice Type. You can create a new one there by right click new in the list of existing ones. Once you have added the new one it will be available to you to select in voice type in the list on the NPC page for NPCs and on the Creature page for creatures.

Thanks for the answers. I think the description of my problem was not clear (I realize my english could be improved)
I know how to create a voice but the dialogue files are specific to each esp. I just don't want to create it in each time and to duplicate the audio files but to be able to select it once and for good as a generic default to be used by any newly NPC created afterwards in any esp
I believe it is possible by creating a new voice type in a .esm and just add the default voice to the NPC but I'm getting confused at this point.

For now I solved the mystery of voices still heard in game even with the files deleted.
I added a new drive to my computer and reinstalled the OS and the game on this new one but due to a careless installation some of the resources used were still the ones on the old disk. Mea culpa.
