How Do YOU explore

The map that comes with the manual is useless. It's hard to decipher and it's not a direct screenshot from the real in-game map.

I've been using that one forever. It's a fairly detailed "satellite" view type map. The big downside is that it may break your sense of immersion as you become able to see every twist and turn of a highway. On the upside, for an experienced explorer, it's handy for trying to figure out which particular rock fall might lead to the top of the hill.

I pick a random, unexplored spot in the map and use my legs. I explore any remarkable place I come across.

Ghouls are just naturally flammable creatures and, like many animals, spontaneously ignite when I enter their territory.

I wonder why the ghoul wastelanders are always hostile though?

My first play through i wondered the wasteland without aid but this time round i used the explorer perk and occasionally ill look up a few things because i noticed i missed a few cool locations last time.

Hey where is the concrete treehouse someone mentioned? haven't seen that before.

My first two playthroughs were blind. No outside help. I have the collectors edition strategy guide now, and occasionally look up things on the wiki, but not often. The Explorer perk is one of those "what's the point" perks. Never taken it.
