So how you feel about new update?

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 7:04 am

I have downloaded both new updates yesterday. There is some new things that i have noticed (SPOILERS):

- Haloween decorations (living room and restaurant) and outfits. Awesome!

- Dwellers will automaticaly return to vault when they get maximum amount of items outside of vault. (this one i do not like as much, i would like better if they automatically drop worse items and pickup better ones)

- Raiders can finally be looted! (Just tap their corpses)

- Deathclaw attacks do not happen so often (It did not bothered me as much but some players were not happy when DCs attacked them, so it is probably good change)

- Objectives do not reward Lunchboxes so often. (not surprisingly i do not like it)

- Statistics! (new card in weapons/outfits menu). It looks like i have done a little holocaust out in the wasteland, after 72:20hrs of playing, my dwellers killed 29503 creatures which is a lot!

- Mysterious stranger - He just stands in background of random room and disappears after short time, if you spot him and tap him, you will be rewarded in caps and xp

- Survival mode. Had anyone of you tried it? I did not so far so info will be appreciated.

- Cloud saves (You must enable this option in vault list)

- You can skip tutorial when you start new vault.

Anyway, i am very happy that Bethesda continues to support this great little mobile game. I hope there will be more updates with more weapons, outfits, rooms, objectives etc. Great work Bethesda!

Is there something that i did not noticed yet? What is your experience? How do you like new things? I had not experienced purchase problems in earlier version. Was it patched for those of you who had problems with that?

Terrified of deathclaws. I think when I finally see them I'll have to send everyone out to explore the wasteland and hope they leave.

There's still a cap limiting wasteland exploring vault dwellers to 25. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1539170-explorer-limit-ruins-the-game/?p=24380190, nothing changed. They both lied and removed anything to do for late-game players.

I don’t care about updates anymore they ruined the enjoyment of the game so I’m done with this game. I don’t even care writhing down all the faults, just one example: Objectives – Survive 10 Deathclaws attacks with no casualties – After one week playing several hours each day I’ve gotten to 3 lol there are no Deathclaws any more … just ridicules, thanks!

I started playing since July, each update making the game more difficult to play and with less fun. Bethesda is killing this game.

Besides limited number of explorers, the objectives are getting harder and comes with less lunchboxes.

e.g. Deathclaws are now coming less frequent, but the objective is "to survive 9 Deathclaws attack". How long will it take to have 9 Deathclaws attack? I can't invite them. And also cannot lure it by sending out more dwellers.

When I get the Piper and the 5 lunchboxes, I have the feeling that the game will be harder to play. Moreover, the bonus only goes to one vault, how about the other two? If three vaults are given, does Bethesda expect us to play it together?

The bugs are not totally fixed, I just got kicked out while moving some dwellers. I am on iOS 9 already.

All these doesn't make sense to me.

How does one even get Piper and the free lunchboxes? Nowhere in my search does it say how, it just advertises that it is.

I've been playing Survival Mode almost exclusively since the update. Honestly, it brought the game back to life for me. Vanilla had become a tedious exercise in clicking for chime-y sounds (I'm on Bluestacks, so I'm using a mouse). Survival Mode has infused it with a bit of Civilization flavor, where you really have to watch what you're doing to avoid screwing yourself.

And there's been a lot of griping, at least here, about the explorer cap. Personally it doesn't bother me at all. If you've got 25 explorers out there looking for money and stuff, that's enough to drag a pretty big fishing net along behind you. You'll still score plenty of treasure.

I like the new outfits and some of the new features. The main problem is it seems to make it less stable than before. Maybe if they were able to make the app not crash as soon as it starts up, it would be more fun. I have the game app on android and IOS and the latest update seems especially unstable on IOS.

As a developer myself, I don't understand Bethesdas focus on new features before making it stable first. It doesn't help that much to have cool new features if it crashes 4-5 times when I load it. At some point, debugging might need to be a higher priority in the development cycle.

Just sayin.

I found a device that didn't have the update, and am enjoying playing again! That device will NEVER be synced until they fix the freezing issue and raise the explorer limit.

Wow, i mean WOW! There is so much hate for this game it seems. I personally never experienced any serious bug (crashing, freezing, buying problems...), only some graphic glitches and bit slower performance sometimes so i understand a little. I play on Android 4.2.2 (Prestigio Multiphone 5453DUO) and on BlueStacks as well. I will try survival mode soon because except for gaining legendary items there is not much more for me to do now. Anyway, thank you for replies.

Unfortunatly I know how you feel. I can no longer get any of my vaults to load, so I can no longer play the game. I dont think the "hate" is toward the game itself though, just a feeling of powerlessness to do anything about it. There is no real way to contact or get support. Bethesda relies solely on the generosity of unpaid volunteer users to support their product. So if you're not lucky enough to get someone to notice your cry for help and actually have some skill on how to fix it, you're just SOL. That feeling of helplessness is what generates all the hate.

Umm, not a good change IMO. Now I'm finding the game even more boring, for what am I chasing better weapons? I haven't had one single DC attack since the patch and dozens and dozens of dwellers have gone out/in the vault door. DC attacks now seem to be so rare that they might as well not exist in the game. I even re-built my radio room to attract them but still no Deathclaws. There's simple solution for complainers, reduce population below DC treshold and try again later with better weapons. If you want game without attacks then go play Sims or something, eh.

Yeah there's always survival mode, but I'm not going to pull my hair with it because game usually freezes and crashes in critical situations and I end up losing the vault because of it.

It's a still cool game -- no hate at all -- just minor disappointment explorer nerf. It's not that big a deal tbh, and it wouldn't bother me at all if there were other things to do with my dwellers. I very much enjoy this game and I would definitely spend money on new content if it were provided. I purchased two 5-packs of Mr. Handys, so if they add more purchasable stuff, I'll gladly support their efforts. Lunchboxes are just not worth a dollar.

What I'm looking for in a content update:

- New rooms or additional uses for existing room -- basically something to do with the 90+ extra explorers that will no longer be able to explore. Like maybe there should be a reason to have a diner. I get more worth out of a nuka cola factory, but there should be a reason to have diners, as well. Or reasons to have training rooms after you max out all stats; like radio rooms still provide function after you max out population.

- New enemies to fight -- I'd like more of a challenge, but I'm not really into hardcoe modes. I don't agree that hardcoe = hard; hardcoe = punishing; harder modes can exist without permanent losses.

- New robots -- Mr Gutsy anyone? Protectron, sentry bots, or a mainframe computer AI.

- New weapons -- grenades?

- Ability to delete dwelling spaces without deleting my dwellers. If you're at 200 population, you're stuck with the dwelling spaces where they are because you cannot build past the limit and cannot delete below the current population. I'd have to remove 40 dwellers to remodel my vault.

- Quests?

Anyway, I don't know what to do with 175 dwellers inside my vault. They're bored. lol

I agree on that, I've sent many Dwellers but I only get like around a few uncommon, no Legendary so far

Only for the iOS and only the first time you log in.

I can understand why people are frustrated with this especially if they sank a good amount of money into it. I personally am just playing it to get my Fallout fix until FO4 comes out. I have experienced a bunch of bugs in the game but I just start a new vault. Right now I have raiders beating on my vault door and they can't seem to break through which is a huge problem because I can't rush. I'll just end up making a new vault. I would probably be mad if this was a AAA game though.

All above are very good suggestions IMO. Let's hope that they will add at least some to next update. And that they will resolve the major bugs, so everyone who meets the requirements can actually play.

Only started playing maybe 3 weeks ago... I'm not bothered. Would be nice to have some bigger perspective features like a map of the wasteland and being able to interact with the outside world more.

Where have all the Deathclaws gone? I feel a little hypocritical asking, cause in an earlier thread I complained that Deathclaws were OP.

One of my Vaults has the objective, "Survive 8 Deathclaw attacks with no casualties", and it's been sitting at 1 of 8 for about 3 days now (not cause my Dwellers are dying)! I'm at 199 Dwellers so that the Radio Station keeps broadcasting (Three Dog's my DJ, so I can't take him off the air)

Love the Halloween motif. One Vault now has 2 Skeleton costumes. I also love the magical brooms. Only seen it once though, so I'm curious what triggers it. Haven't noticed anyting happenning in the Barracks, though I think there might be something going on in a picture far in the back (I play on my Galaxy S4 mini, which has a tiny screen, so that picture is very tiny, even when I'm wearing my 3x reading glasses)

About looting the Raiders - I frequently see at least one Raider with a Plasma Pistol, but the best "loot" has always been some lame outfit. If a Raider's packing a Plasma Pistol, I want an opportunity to loot that.
