How you feel when your follower die?

I reload, but only because I use my companions as pack mules as well as tanks so I don't want to lug all their [censored] around because I'm generally hovering around maximum capacity myself.

Nah, that's the only thing I ever correct. Doesn't anybody realize the when they say "could care less" that they are implying that they actually do care and possess the ability to care less than they currently do?

So what? My original amount of care is so tiny, it doesn't work out the way you think anyway.

Empowered; because I killed them with the Ebony Blade, thus making myself stronger. :sb:

This is what I usually felt....

Damn, why can't Bethesda code an AI that doesn't jump in front of me while I'm mid swing!

Or something on those lines.

Fixed.

If you are going to fix my grammar and word use at least get all of it. couldn't careless does not work either... should be couldn't care less...

Seriously I can't believe I made that mistake though. It actually is a pet peeve of mine.

Btw do not play grammar police. Irritates the moderators.

How did I feel when Lydia died?
The same way I feel when any Bethesda Game Companion dies.

I had Aela following me and she got in my way when I was fighting a couple bandits and I killed her along with the bandits. Oops lol. I don't feel bad though.

Hello,

I cause the death of my archery mentor Faarthal.

Its all my fault, i shouldnt get angry with him and told him to go home when he keep blocking my path. He just stood there so long, i lose my patience.

So after some enchanting at College of Winterhold.

I decided to start my WolfSkull quest. Upon moving out toward Winterhold. I fight my first Elder Dragon. Faarthal return to assist me.

But after i kill Dragon. I found Faarthal corpse.

I almost cry.

Rip Faarthal.

Annoyed. That pretty much encompasses my emotional attachment to the companions.

But I like my follower as a distraction and because it's nice not to feel so alone in the world. I just wish they would patch soon and fix the bug where they don't level up with you because Lydia is a total wimp now. Everything puts her to her knee in one or two shots. It's kinda sad really. But if I accidentally kill her I just reload. The worst is that as a spell caster I am really limited in what I use around her since she takes damage from any aoe spell. Chain Lightning is probably the most annoying because I love using it but it jumps to her too which is really stupid. Like I can't control my own spell. It's not hitting me. Why does it hit her? I wish they would fix that too.

Wow, thought I wrote this lol.

Yeah agree with you. I just got chain lightning yesterday and Lydia died 5 times in the first dungeon we were in. sigh. I put a thread in the Software/Hardware forum and asked for that to be fixed, but I doubt it will happen. Probably have to wait for a modder to fix it.

I was not aware that followers don't level up with you. I wondered why suddenly she started going down during fights. Seems she lasts about 20-25 seconds, if that much.

E

PS: Forgot to mention, I always reload if a follower dies - I blame myself for not playing better lol.

I've had a few followers now but only two have died (I think, pretty sure).

Mrs. Crag Jumper, she asked for it, she knew the risks, her return to adventuring was short but glorious.

Death by Dragon.
River funeral.

Kharjo, I feel deeply guilty over this one.
I actually went out of my way to get him and even though I knew his caravan would be vulnerable without him... I wanted a Kahjiit follower.

So first dungeon together, had him dressed in finest ebony (minus helmet), well armed and ready...

Death by Mass Mage Attack.
I left him where he fell, taking only his Moon amulet and laying him out in a dignified fashion.

It cost a lot of time and coin to arm and armour him at the time but I felt so guilty over the whole thing I couldn't face retrieving any of it.

I have Erandur with me atm, no real test of his prowess yet, just turning in quests atm.
But he has more interesting things to say than most followers and his performance in that dungeon tells me he should be pretty good.

So far i haven't slain one of my followers, maybe it helps becaue they all where legendary high end gear i've made. Don't you have to be the one to land the final blow to kill them, if not they just flop around on the floor?

Naw, AoE's can waste them.
Sustained kinda damage... dragons can easily drop a weak follower.

Also if you get out of enemy aggro range and your follower is still shoulders deep in mages.

They're not easy to kill, but they're not immortal by any means.
I like it that way, the risk is there but it's minor and not overshadowing your every move with them.
