How Do You Find The Time To Play?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:05 am

I have a new laptop and I would LOVE to start playing my TES games again, but I have to ask, how do you find the time? Do you do an hour a day or an alloted amount? At the moment, I am at college and while it is not intensive, I am pouring so much time into it that I haven't even installed any games on my laptop!

How do you guys find the time? I really would love to get back to TES.

I work part-time, my children have almost flown the nest (1 in 6th form, 1 at uni), and I don't watch tv so I have plenty of time for myself

Just make a point to sneak it in here or there. Instead of cutting into your productive time (studying or working), pay attention to when you are watching tv or mindlessly surfing the internet, and try to play then.

And as they offer such escapism, they are great games to play on a break from studying, or winding down after exams. :)

The month of September, for me, has been a decent in-between stage for work and college. My summer job cut back to weekends, and my college doesn't start until next monday, so I've been putting my empty weekdays to good TES use.

Of course, when I'm back in the educational swing of things, I'll be a lot more hard-pressed to find time. Perhaps an hour or so every couple of nights in between reading and assignments.

I manage to fit an hour or so of game time in, two times a week. If it is a particularly uneventful weekend, maybe a bit more.

I used to play a lot more, but I have been slowly losing interest in just about every type of game (with the lone exception of large-scale strategy games).

I don't. I've hardly played any game, let along TES, in quite some time.

This. You probably won't see me, here even, much until Christmas.

Not often anymore, really. I still greatly enjoy meditating on the lore and visiting the forums, but I haven't played in a while. That's the great thing about TES - you don't just visit the world, you explore it, and you live it. Even when I'm not playing, I'm always thinking about it, and then there's all the companionship and experiences exchanged among you guys here on the forum.

At a more general level, I'd say I have about 4 hours of free time per day now. I guess I'm a fairly lucky person, though with the search for college coming up and having to get a job, it could get tricky. Thing is, whenever I have a lot of free time, I waste it doing pointless things like reading random Wikipedia articles and posting on forums. It's when I have a half hour to myself that I go into a tangent of gaming and wish I had more time. :hehe:

I got lotsa time. It's either play games, web-surf or stare at the ceiling for me. I don't get to get out anymore. :(

I've finished school and I have no job. I have 100% of my day to spend playing computer games.

I haven't heard someone say "nowt" for a while :D

But basically this. I also keep this tab open when I'm doing my school papers or my "other job." as for playing, I tend to do it nights after I'm done with everything.

Planning. I need to have a plan for every day. That way I always know what I'm going to do, what I have to do etc. I always carry it with me too.

I am currently unemployed and I currently am not going to school, so it is actually quite easy to find the time to play TES:IV nowadays, however, it won't last.

I'm at a school away from home during the weeks (I use a laptop here that can't run Oblivion), so I can only play on the weekends. That limits the addiction quite effectively :D

When the home/yard work's done, I don't work that day, and I have nothing better to do, I pop a disc in and do a few quests. Occasionally, I'll have a day-long binge of it if I have nothing better to do.

I don't, at least not now that I've begone on university, it not just TES, it gaming in general. Luckily, TES has become as much about the community here, as the actual games, so I find some time to check out these forums now and then, and that's okay for the time being.
