I've seen this question posted on a couple of other boards, but I'm very curious myself and thought I'd bring the question to these forums. Long story short, I got Illia to be my companion and was loving her as one. Amazing power! But, I went through and did the quests to prove myself as a Companion, and when the companion started helping me, Illia left! I went back to Darklight Tower to try and get her back since she had quite a few valuable things she was carrying for me, but I couldn't find her. Is this a bug? Does anyone know how I can get her back and where she went? I'd much rather have her as a follower than anyone else at this point.

Seriously is this a bug? I accidentally dismissed her after a dragon priest battle and my life hasnt been the same since. I need my lady back guys. Can we get a fix in for this issue? I've returned to Darklight Tower and she is nowhere to be found.

Where is she???

When she left she said she was heading home and that I could meet her there when I needed her. I think... When she left Whiterun she started walking down the path to the Meadery. I checked there and any homes along the road, but I still can't find her. She's still not in Darklight Tower either. I can't imagine I'm the only one having this issue.

Trust me dude I've been searching for her for two days now and no luck. Is there any way we can report this directly to bethesda so maybe they can patch a fix for this issue soon? i want my follower and my things back!

I'm not sure. I'd imagine it has to be a bug. Someone doesn't just up and disappear. At least they shouldn't in an RPG.

Not sure who Illia is but sounds like she may have died along the way.

Illia is a Follower, and a damn good one. No, she's not dead. It happens when someone replaces her as part of a quest or if you dismiss her. She's part of a quest in Darklight Tower. She doesn't go back to that place and she's no where else that I can think to look. If this is a bug, and she's not hiding somewhere, then they definitely need to get this one fixed!

if she said she went home .. .. she should be in dragon reach ( where you are made thane) she should be the table .. if you own a house in town she will be their .. if not in them 2x places she died on the way back or bug .. ( yes she can die )

Just wondering if you guys own a house? When I dismiss Lydia, she just goes the my house in Whiterun. Check your houses you own. If you don't own any houses, then disregard this message lol.

I checked Dragonsreach, nobody but Lydia. I also don't own a home so I can't imagine she'd go to a place that doesn't exist. Really not sure where else to look for her. Where's my follower!

I did'nt think she was that powerfull, I accidently killed her. But this could be beacuse she was a warrior and I'm a archer, and never really got to see her in action. I did the quest in dragon reach to go get that guys sword and the bandit leader proved to be pretty tough and droped her in a heart beat and I accidently shot her while she was down, when i was trying to shoot him. But yes they are correct she was in the meadery in dragon reach, I fought her in the bar there so she could become a follower. By far the best follower I have had is the wood elf in the first little wood cutting village you go to.

Illia is a mage. When she gets released she goes back to Darklight Tower, however when you try and talk to her she just gives generic responses and won't engage in dialogue and won't join back up. I am sad as she was the first companion I've found that I actually liked... back to doing everything solo again...

I feel the same way dude, I'm usually a loner in these games but she was great and my first companion! I don't want anyone but her how do we get this fixed??

This is just an idea. Maybe you can look for her in Riverwood? I know that you are invited to stay at a house there after you escape from Helgen (house depends on which character you escaped with). Maybe since you haven't purchased a house yet, the game might have noted that house as your homebase. Again just an idea for a place to look.

I tried looking there after reading your post... No go Still can't find her! It's really gotta be a bug. I'd much rather have flying mammoths and graphical glitches than this.

Has anyone that's had this problem found her? Any other suggestions?

Check any guilds that you have joined just to be sure. If not she just might be gone. Sorry

I lost her as well, however i was able to find her! I located her outside of the Whiterun main gate walking across the road to the farm-lands, she would not follow me so i had to murder her to get my stuff back... but better then nothing.

I loved Illia soooo much too !

I lost her during the companions' quest, Farkas replaced my follower and she said she was heading home...

I am desperately looking for her since !

I've checked my 2 houses in Riften and Whiterun, also checked the Darklight tower.

I've asked my boyfriend in his own game to hire her and then dismiss her. She said she was heading home, he started following her (she walks very slowly oO) and she's gone to the Darklight tower where he was able to hire her again...

My guess is she's walking since I've lost her in Whiterun. It's a long walk from Whiterun to the tower. Maybe I should just wait or walk myself the road.

Or maybe she died during her walk but I don't even know if it's possible !

I still can't find her. It's good to hear that someone found her though! Have you had a chance to check back and find her yourself though? You and I lost her due to the same situation. Gives me a little hope at least!

Assuming your playing the PC version, you can find her by opening the console window (press the ? key next to the 1) and type player.moveto 0004b22c

This command will take you to where she is.

I too found myself in the position where I did the werewolf quest and lost her (i seriously despise that quest now), i've been going back to previous saves and trying different ways to find her and get her back, when you start the werewolf quest she will start walking all the way back to Darklight Tower and she will stand in the room where you originally encountered her, note that you will need to do a time rest of 24h several times to allow her time to get all the way back - or you can do the command and it will teleport you to wherever she is on the road, she does get into combat on the road as I found her just as she had killed some random walking mage.

However, she will not respond to any communication once she has been lost or manually dismissed, this is clearly a bug so we just have to hope that a fix will be made for this although I suspect that by the time this is fixed we will all have finished the game and not care much anyway lol

Also note that even if we managed to get her back, she would be lost again when doing the Labyrinth quest later on (another annoying bug)

Thanks for the info. Shame to hear that we can't actually get her back if we lost her to the Werewolf quest. Really hope that they get this fixed. I've gone through a couple different Followers now, and Illia is still by far my favorite.

i had the same problem, i got her and she rocks but i dismissed her and couldn't rehire her, ir use brelyn from the mages guild, she's pretty good too but illia was awesome firepower.
