Please explain why you play or don't play as redguards, rather than having a blank opening post, otherwise there is no reason to have a thread as there is nothing to discuss.
The redguard culture and society is pretty cool.
Agreed. Great warriors and they're still sticking it to those snooty elves. Plus, some of them have curved swords.
Curved. Swords.
My very first Morrowind character was a Redguard. I loved playing that character and still have fond memories of that game. Since then I've played at least one Redguard character in each game. I've played two in Skyrim so far and I'm sure I'll play many more. The look of those Alik'r robes and scimitars is just too cool for me to pass up.
Probably my favorite human race, followed closely by Imperials I suppose.
I love playing Redguards. I find their history and culture very interesting, almost intimidating. I tend to reserve playing Redguards for when I have a really, really great character idea. With their one-handed bonus and Adrenaline Rush they are amazing dual-wielders right off the cart. Shallow as this is and even though the vanilla game does not come with enough textured hair styles, I find that Redguards are the easiest race to make a gorgeous character. Plus I like Redguard names. And as stated above: Curved. Swords.
I love playing them, too. My feistiest characters tend to be redguards. My current main Skyrim character is a redguard named Herricka.
I hope eventually there's a TES: Hammerfell. The Redguards have some pretty good lore behind them; and as someone mention earlier those Alik'r look cool. Especially with their curved swords. Can you believe it?! Curved swords!
I don't like them only because the devs made them too physically short! no good for melee based characters that have a preferance for 1H weapons imo... Long live the NORDS!
I hope TES VI will be in Hammerfell. Just imagine all the cool things that can be implemented:
-Continuation of the thalmor arc (is that the right word? Not a native speaker.)
-Stros M'Kai (a place that even people who've only played skyrim could know, considering it's mentioned in bandit songs, and jarrin root and rum appear in skyrim)
-Orsinium? (would make a great DLC)
I also have this feeling an elven-focused elder scrolls would be way less popular because(I hate myself for saying this, but there's a truth to it) of 'casuals'.
Favorite race among the men and mer. True warriors, and I find their lore fascinating.
Next to nothing. They were one of the more fleshed out races in the game, but their NPC's seem among the least conspicuous. I barely notice Nazeem. I suppose the same could be said about Bretons (not including Reachmen), but Bretons are based on cultures more familiar to me, so I think about them more.
Seren says Rustleif is a marvel with steal. She's expecting as well. Go figure! You just have to appreciate a women who appreciates such thngs.
If I'm wielding a weapon, I want to pick an Orc for the Berserk ability.
If it's a pure mage, Breton or Altmer for the abilities and passives they have that are suitable for pure mages.
After that it might be a Argonian for the health regeneration.
The other races might be suitable for specialized builds, I just don't know that they're as strong.
I like http://ghastley.org/Skyrim/images/NoVeil.jpg Some of the others, not so much.
How did she get in my house? Not that I mind, just curious.
I don't use four letter words like stop, don't and quit.
