The radient quests from the TG go on and on. I dont think you ever really complete Skyrim. There's favors to do for people in each town, dungeons to explore, daedric artifacts to collect, etc.

Have you tried roleplaying? If not, you should try it. It will add a whole new perspective to the Skyrim experience.

One does not simply "finish" Skyrim.

I think you should RP. Not heavily, but enough to give your character a good story. Do things he or she would do.

Then you are bored of your character, this can be after 2000 hours doing all non radial quests and explored all locations, or before Riverwood.

Yes I know you can play 2000 hours without visiting Riverwood :)

I really like my character but I just wish there was a hell of a lot more challenging quests in the game, because I done the main quest really quick and I wasn't expecting I to be over so soon.

Try modded-in quests from the nexus, they tend to be made for "endgame" level characters.

What level are you playing on? Perhaps increase the difficulty?

My current level 42 character has just started it to get dragons, will probably continue it soon but expect the cultist will distract me from finishing it.

You might want to increase the difficulty, its kind of messed up in the game it tend to get easier at higher levels.

Seems that you stuck in a cycle. Why don't you start over again?

Yep. This is true of any Elder Scrolls game. You can keep going on and on if you want.

Personally, I've had several characters who have died (I play dead-is-dead) and several others who have retired. At some point, I just kinda 'know' when my time with them is finished. But the gameworld itself goes on and on.

Just keep playing until you see the closing credits. When you see them, then you'll know you've done everything there is to do in Skyrim.

I'd just suggest starting over again with a completely different character and play style.

If you have completed all the quest-lines and DLC, then don't worry you have completed it. Those misc quests are just going to keep coming so those don't count.

It is only complete when you have done all there is to be done, tried every type of roleplay that you can think of, explored 100% of the map and finally quit playing it.

I have just passed 6,500 hours and I haven't done any of those things yet. I thought I did but I keep finding new things.

This is why making specialized characters is more enjoyable. Try making an extreme character such as a pure thief who nevers kills anything (humans/animals/monsters), this will force you to be EXTRA sneaky to avoid confrontations.

I know I've 'completed Skyrim' as any one character because I set an objective for that character when I start. Current character is a Nord barbarian saving Skyrim from dragons so he can return to his camp near Helgen and get back to his simple life of hunting and fishing. Obviously he will be complete when the main quest is complete.

My next character (I think) is going to be a Dark Elf who will be complete when Ulfric Stormcloak's head hits the floor, allowing him to return to his home in Windhelm knowing that the new jarl is going to make sure the Dunmer there are treated well.

When playing a game that is basically endless I always try to start with an exit strategy in place.

Completing skyrim?

Almost impossible to do.

Spoiler
Quite a few quests are literally unending such as Dawnguard kill random vampire, volkihar kill random vampire, Companions and their quests, Dark Brotherhood forever, the Thieves guild quests where they tell you to do x thing in a city come to mind. Oh and the one radiant quest for the college which deals with magical anomalies after the main college quest.

Oh and when I say college I mean the one in Winterhold not the one in Solitude which does not even count as a faction.

You know you completed Skyrim when there's an in-game video showing Todd Howard, wearing a partyhat and singing Ragnar the Red.

Dive!.... Dive! .....Dive!

Pressure in the boat, green board

Open bulkhead flappers and start the ventilation.

One-third trim, niner ze-ro feet, two degree up bubble

The hyperbole here is lulzworthy.

Once you've done all the non-radiant quests in the game, all that's left is exploration. Whether the OP thinks that's worth the effort is another story entirely. Roleplay can only go so far.
