Just a thread for you to speak your mind, do you like this game or not?
And please, no flaming or name-calling. Everyone′s opinion on Fallout 4 is valid so keep it civil, guys

But if you feel it′s "only" 256 hours, then that is saying something
Love it, most stable Bethesda game yet. Already at 250 hours, just taking a break for a week to focus on my writings.
Is it perfect? is it heck. Is it flawed? Certainly. But I've already put more hours into it than the entire Witcher series, so that's something.
I'm loving it. Each BGS seems to make me a little more obsessive. This and retirement and made me play a lot of hours. Then when the modding tools come out , my cycle will start all over again.
Mediocre at best. Remove the lame voice actor and it would instantly be 10x better and more replayable.
It is a good game, if played on its own premise. I have nearly 300 hours on 3(?) playthrough, and have enjoyed most of it. The things I don't like or enjoy are / have been already discussed here, so won't go into further details, other than saying, if not played on its own premise, but hold up against the other Fallout games, it lacks in crucial areas.
All my criticism are directed to make the game better, because it has a great foundation, and has lots of potential to be the greatest game for some time, and I want to do what little I can to help get it there.
Currently, good, hopefully great things await the future
Great, I just wish there are more side quests than there are now.
Mods and DLCs will fix it.
I've finished it once and I have no desire to do a second playthrough. It lacks soul, it's not a good Fallout game.
Love it as an adventure and exploration game, but leaves a lot to be desired as a roleplaying game. I'm on my 5th playthrough (current character is lvl 55 or 65, can't remember), but no characters have seen the institute yet (two have done Kellog, one have done the Courser). The 5th is the first one I've found all the bobbleheads, but still lacking a few books. I'll try to see this one to the end though. Game will get put aside once XCOM 2 arrives
i like i very much, play it a lot of time, intalling mods, exploring i'm, taking my time i think im in the middle of the main quest,
Dislike it. It's just a bad game that tries to do achieve too much, but ends up as a cluttered mess. It's bad as an RPG (can it even be called one anymore), it's terrible as a Fallout game, it's mediocre as a shooter, horrible as a storyteller.... It tries to do too much and everything is left feeling halfhearted, and recycling Beth's one and only way making games leaves even the supposed new stuff feeling as flavorless "been there done that" mush of dried out yesterdays meal. One thing it might excel at is being a sort of light-hearted activity simulatior to pop in for a few minutes when there's absolutely nothing better to do, other than that... just no. Scraping the bottom of the barrel.
I like it as a game, i mean I have nearly 500 hours clocked in, so that is good value considering I only paid like 42-44 dollars for it. However I am not blind to it's rampant problems. Various glitches that can render certain quests unplayable, dated graphics, weak central story, factions with no depth. Then you get into things like it being a very watered down rpg, choices you make have little effect on the narrative, and responses you give are essentially you either saying yes nicely, or saying yes I will do it, rudely. What the game gets right though is feeding into that little bit of ocd that many people secretly have, that just makes you want to look through that building in the distance there, or see what's around that corner. It's just good enough to be addictive, and I think Bethesda knows this, which is a shame because they might not be in too big of a rush to change things up in the future.
Relative to other Bethesda games, I hate it. As a game, in general, it's fine.
I really enjoy the game and LOVE certain elements. Poured plenty of hours in but certain things feel like they are missing.
-Lack of a true character build (due to the way SPECIAL is treated).
-Perks are uninspired by what they do and their design. Arguably a lack of ambition from Bethesda to introduce unique and interesting mechanics really show themselves here.
-Lack of purpose to the majority of quests (I think this made Witcher 3 great in my eyes, every quest felt purposeful, and some had massive impact on your surroundings in interesting ways).
-Lack of unique paths to completing quests.
-Lack of purpose to Settlements.
-Tiny settlements (Bunker Hill and Good Neighbour) when we have seen Bethesda make bigger, great settlements (though these ooze character and have great atmosphere, which is arguably more important).
-No carry-over of all the good stuff from NV (no hardcoe mode, no ammo-crafting, no inspirational RPG elements).
-Radiant quests have potential to be something fantastic, but currently svck so much balls.
-All four major factions arent that interesting. Railroad is the best but still kinda svcky.
The greats:
-Its Fallout.
-It oozes character in some places (others not so much).
-Settlement system is a great time-waster (though it lacks purpose, arguably it doesnt need one).
-New shooting mechanics are fantastic, and so is VATS.
-Voice acting is great (though the game suffers from the lack of RPG choices from it).
-Glowing sea is AMAZING.
-New radiation system is fantastic, would like to see a hardcoe-type mode really push the radiation system so it becomes a genuine difficult-to-deal with danger.
-New colour scheme is much better than past fallouts.
-Perks-replace-skills was a smart decision.
-Companions (aside from Preston) are all really well done this time round. Favourite being Cait.
-Power Armour is awesome, a good alternative to vehicles.
Not very much at all. It's actually easier to list the good points I found in the game: Art design, better voice acting, new factions that weren't recycled.
Beyond that I only found mediocrity. The game has abandoned the idea of being an RPG and now stands closer to a Far Cry game than a Fallout game.
The dialogue, main story, writing, dialogue system, voiced protagonist and perk system were all absolutely atrocious in my opinion. Don't even get me started on their lies about "more frequent" patches and the fact that they have done very little to fix their game at all.
I would consider the combat an improvement if that's how the character played after maxing out the associated perks, but the fact that the character plays like a generic FPS without any prior experience makes the combat a step backwards for me.
Honestly I could write pages upon pages about everything bad I found in the game and why I think it's a worse game than Fallout 3 and Skyrim, but I have already made a lot of those points clear in my posts in other threads.
Its a lot like fallout 3, but better. Bethesda stepped up their writing and created 4 factions that are all sympathetic. They have also improved perks/skills with their overhaul, as well as making all stats important and hard to choose between. The only complaint i have about the stats is they don't appear in dialogue or checks that often (charisma appearing often, intelligence one iirc).
Gunplay is also great, although weapon variety isn't that great imo. Outside of pipe weapons most weapons have essentially an upgrade tree, and some ammo types are only used by one gun. (Seriously bethesda maybe a less ww1 assault weapon, or an actual .50 rifle (would have been awesome to have to use power armor to stablize it!))
Voiced protagonists will be polarizing. Personally i love them and think it helped the writing and storytelling, although i can see how it could ruin the game if you don't enjoy the actor though
