Silent casting is fun. Any spell that doesn't immediately effect an enemy won't get you noticed at all, and those that do (like fireball) will usually only cause enemies to become 'aware' and start looking for me. Perhaps that's because I also have a rather high sneak skill though.

I've never been one for messing around with sneaking, apart from stealing. I just charge in. But I pause at intervals, of course. I don't just race through, screaming BANZAIIII! or something.

My characters have a death wish, so they run into battle.

The next playthrough I will do a thief or mage and sneak all the time!

Although my current character is not the sneaky type, I'd usually sneak so I can do some sneak damage on the enemy before running in to finish them with my great sword.
