I always put Vance's SMG on it's pedestal in Vikki & Vance.

I've only done one true RP character.
It's a bit long to explain so I'll in short:

He runs around in a pre war suit with a 9mm SMG and a revolver and pretends he's "all that" slick rick.
When he earned a machete from Dead Sea then he started going on a psychotic crusade against NCR.
It was hella fun.

Limited weapons, clothing and armor (as if the game had classes ;)) with the characters having different personalities and motivations which result in different decisions during quests. The old school way :hehe:

i never thought of rp, i actually have very little creativity (thats why i like fallout so my stuff to look at) so i just played how it was made to be played. In Fo3 i either did an all nice guy walkthrough or an all *wtf? who gave you premission to talk to me?* playthrough x)

My character right now is more or less a high ranking mafia family member who has come out east to make it on his own.

How Do You RP (Outside what the developers intended)
Well it has always appeared the the developer (Bethesda, in the case of TES & FO3), has assumed that the player would consider themselves the PC (like an avatar in the game world), instead of considering the PC itself as the one that belongs in the game [world].

I prefer a view that includes the PC in the frame ~reminds me that they exist at all; and so I play TPP whenever practical (even though the game is not designed for this and has even lately been discouraging it... Like when NV crippled the Camera by locking it a few feet behind the PC's shoulder instead keeping it more in line with the series ~as a whole.)

As far as the other roleplaying aspects... there is only one [golden] rule as far as I'm concerned.
*And that is, "How would this particular person/or creature [the PC] react to the events taking place in the game; given their history and current goals". Stick with that and how can you go wrong?

I have downoaded a mod that disables fast travel, another one that shows animation when i eat/drink/smoke, a mod that makes gives me a brahmin companion and a mod that gives you a ranch next to Bonnie springs. I live as a trader/farmer, walking around in the wasteland :)

When I play as my self as a good guy, I pretend that Ceaser s Legion is sooooooooooooo weak and hard to find (wait Im not pretending it s the truth) that I may as well take boone and go raze Ceaser s base camp. Villified or not........

When I build my CL guy more he ll take it upon himself to eliminate all ncr personel on the map. Just to stay true to Ceaser. He also can t help but to kill people that no one sees or will really miss.

He took Veronica like 500 yards away from the188 and murdered her with a dual kitchen knife. He couldn t help it...... I don t think he ll be able to get cass back to the Silver Rush either. I have a bad feeling something bad is going to happen to her too. He s really sick.... Thats why he loves the purity in the Legion s form of justice.

My characters decide to exterminate the entire wasteland and crusifixes benny all the time for the new world order, one where none live and one where 'true' peace is achieved.

Right now I'm playing an OCD clepto. She's basically driven to steal everything. Everything. She's manipulative, but only to the extent that it supports her mania, so she'll make desicions just to increase the chances of her opportunity to get somewhere off limits to steal everything. It's basically a goal driven character, and that goal being I wanted to see how much money I could make if I collected every single selectable item in the game world and sold it for caps. She's swimming in cash. Other than that, I play her as a sorta gothish existential outsider, with a mean vindictive streak when she thinks she's been slighted, ie: the Kahns had to die. She thought they were all involved in her recent brush with two bullets in the brain and killed them all before she had a chance to find out whether they were all involved or were just dupes, but she has a soft spot for other outsiders, so she does things like give power to Freeside, etc.. Being pretty anti-establishment, she'll either not care about the final battle, or might go the Yes Man route. I'll have to see if Yes Man can be convincing enough.

My next playthrough I'm thinking of playing a narcissistic spoiled rich kid, with a chip on his shoulder and mommy issues. He'll have to have all the nicest toys, and won't take well to any authority. I can't wait so see what happens when he meets Cass. I wanna do another energy weapons specialist and I'm thinking this may be something to work with. It's either that or I might try a middle aged milquetoast kinda guy living through a mid-life crisis. Not sure.

I don't.

Just for curiousity's sake: Have you ever? Or do you only play RPGs with the predisposed characters provided by the developer?
And an adjunct question: Have you ever played a PnP RPG?

Just wondering.

I have a crush on Julie Farkas. Is that RP or just creepy?
Other than that, i'm more interrested in learning the story and the fallout universe than roleplaying.
