How do you plan on fighting in Fallout 4

I prefer a stealth approach, long range sniping when outdoors but when heading inside or more enclosed spaces I used a silenced pistol and explosives for traps.

Snipey sniping and explosive traps.. I love shooting from long distance and using traps in closer quarters. Nothing feels better than sneaking around an area, casually throwing a mine down and then hearing it explode later when you're on the other side of the building. Bottlecap mines were the best... you could take out some heavy duty creatures with bottlecap mines.

A favorite strat of mine too. Loved that stretch of town in FO 3 where the outcast base was. Fire a non-kill shot into a raider, throw down mines around each corner, and settle in for a game of Hide and Go F Yourself.

I am thinking my first character will be up close and personal melee. My first character being the female protagonist, will make use of Dogmeat and any other companions to help her out. Shishkebab was a favorite weapon in past Fallouts, so I am hoping to use a weapon like that eventually. Of course, I am all to happy to use a shotgun (another favorite build).

My second character will be the male protagonist and I am generally planning for him to be a sniper build.

All these sneaky snipers here. I'm going with my shotgun like a bull through a china shop. Blam blam!

Gotta admit, fallout new vegas had this really awesome plasma grenade mine recipe, was the equivalent of tossing 6 plasma grenades at the same time. That thing blew the crap out of anything.

I'm going to do all types throughout a good number of playthroughs.

Lol.. that was always a fun thing too. Reverse pickpocket a live grenade into someones inventory and then simply stand back and watch them explode.

I'm going for a survivor.

He will be an ex infantrymen who used the GI Bill to get a degree in computers.

I'm going high perception for VATS and to not get surprised.

Also a decent Charisma since this will be my first play through, I want to be fairly persuasive and get decent prices.

Intelligent enough to hack a computer.

Likely use small arms and heavy weapons.

Depending on how important Strength is in using small arm and heavy weapons, I will build it up as he gets back in shape.

My second play through will be a very intelligence Nora who builds and uses energy weapons.

Here's my typical progression in hostile situations:

A) Try to defuse peacefully

B) Exterminate at extreme range via sniper rifle

C) Plasma rifle to clean up stragglers

D) Panic! Combat shotgun everything

I caught a glimpse of a plasma sniper in the E3 footage, so I'm pretty turned on.

A miracle that I just discovered in New Vegas was the MFC grenade/cluster recipe, which is I think what you're talking about. I never ran out of grenades because I could make them out of microfusion cells, and every battle was like the Blackwater... bright green flames, everything dead. Lots of friendly fire and crippled limbs in that playthrough.

Small arms and mid range. Not because of damage or any kind of stats, but because small arms is how I roll.

as crazy as it is, im just not a fan of the multiplas or the tri-beam rifle, but i loved the metal blaster from the pit (so [censored] OP 8beams at the cost of 1 ecell) and a lazer rifle with the beam splitter

Yeah its pretty satisfying when someone gives you lip and you shoot them in the face with a sawn off shotgun.

Makes real life more bearable.

I just realized. If Vault 111 is a cryo vault, and we can craft Cryolator weapons...

THE ICE MAN COMETH.

In previous fallout series I used a sniper rifle for long range and a katana for close range.

Q1: Small Arms

Q2: All of the above.

Sniper rifles, shotguns, and pistols, are almost always my weapons of choice. So I enjoy a bit of action at close, mid, and long range.
