Raise stamina during your level up and you will gain 5 pounds of carry weight

Yes because one of the higher tier perks removes the weight of worn heavy armour, but in the mean time, up your stamina, I believe that helps as well. There are also a few items in game that can increase your total carry capacity.

I think there's a perk aswell (possibly pickpocketing) that'll add 100 on to your carry space.

Stamina will also allow for more power attacks before running out. A lot of people seem to always go for health, but you lose out a lot if you don't pay attention to stamina.

As a sneak/assassin/thief, I tend to alternate between Health and Stamina 50/50 each time I level up. I don't know if that's effective for warriors though since they spend a lot of time going toe-to-toe in fights.

Get the Pickpocket lvl 50 perk, it boosts your carry by 100. And get the Steed Stone, as that boosts it by another 100 and removes the weight of all gear that you are wearing to boot.

Stamina of course and I found a necklace that adds 30 also at the western part of skyrim there is the steed stone, when activated it adds 100.

There are potions and enchantments that can increase your hauling capacity too.

Yeah I've found a few items that increase stamina, and thus carry weight, through my travels. I actually found heavy armor that increased destruction magic recently. I sold it, but still an interesting concept..I might try it out on my next character(200+ hours from now).

To sum it all up, four methods:

1) Increasing Stamina
2) Taking the Extra Pockets perk from Pickpoketing.
3) Taking either the Conditioning or Unhindered perk of their respective armor skills.
4) Applying the Feather enchant to gear (or finding it).
