How do you sabotage the economy like Mr.Howard said?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 4:12 pm

Remember when Mr.Howard said you can sabotage the economy if you wanted to?
well how do I go about sabotaging the economy like he said?
As far as I know Skyrim has no dynamic economy to speak of.
Is this dynamic and sabotageable economy still included in the game?

Random gold spawns in the pockets of merchants... about the only way to sabotage that is to steal all their money or kill them... really, I have no idea what he meant. There technically is no economy in Skyrim, since you're the only one who buys and sells anything at all.

Ya the NPCs are bored waiting all the time, but when the Dragonborn steps in. Church music and bells start ringing.

Lies and exaggerations.

If one were so bold as to go: "Im sorry guys, we tried, but it didnt work", I would be more lenient.

But since that did not happen: Lies.

LOL! I tried to do this the other day in the game!

I used the Flames spell on the giant tree logs stacked ontop of each other in Riverwood to see if that would burn them or have any effect....nothing.

I even tried hitting the tree stacks with my sword....nothing.

And I still haven't found a use for cutting firewood.....

EVERYONE I FOUND OUT WHAT HE MEANT BY DYNAMIC ECONOMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you cut wood and you get paid for every bundle you bring to the guy.
How ingenious is that idea.
but seriously though. If they ripped off fable's job system they could have ripped off they economy AI at least....

You can sell firewood to some innkeepers, and use it to improve bows at the forge. That's about all I know, from experimenting.

I wonder why they tell such blatant lies? It's like Lionhead, all over again.

You can sell it to the mill owners. Honest pay for honest work.

Sell it to the Mill to make money, in Riverwood especially it doesn't take long at all to make 1 or 2000 gold.

The jobs are not realistic but realistic would hurt the player
for instance I made over 1000 gold coins a day chopping wood.
Now why don't the usual people who cut wood make that much.
If they did they would be richer than the Empire

The point is that it does jack to the economy.

You cannot influence the economy of any hold.
Holds do not have an economy.

All. Lies.

Todd Howard is growing into a liar and a puppet so someone can blame for the company's short comings .

How did it come to this?
It seems Bethesda has become a shady company. Full of powdered deer peenus.

It is simple.
Before they were all about storyline and graphics were minor. The Elder scrolls has become strong but has lost its soul
Its soul was story and AI.
I preferred the reading dialogue but once you go talk you can never go back.
we can still get our Elder scrolls back it is simple for the next one. Keeps graphics the same way and concentrate on higher and denser populations and AI

you cannot sabotage an economy like my howard said because mr howard is a dirty stinkin' liar.

and why is shopping wood so profitable? if that guy in whiterun who does nothing but shop wood all day makes the same money as i do from it, he has got to be loaded... except that i only ever find like 9 gold in his pockets. i wonder what the hell he spends all his mad wood chopper moolah on?

And spellmaking.
If TES 6 doesnt have spellmaking I will never buy a gamesas game again. Ever.
Not even second-hand.

I think Todd Howard and the creators should all be replaced with the original creators. They new how to make a dynamic RPG with flare.

They probably had other things to worry about, would have been nice, but its not something i care about all too much.

Id still rather they get the basics right before adding additions to the game (working main quest, working world).

Ah... honestly, Skyrim started off being the best game I have played in years. Then I started noticing small things like this, and those little things added up. Then the patch came out, and that's all she wrote. I haven't touched the game since, other than to load up my game and slaughter the citizens and guards for the lulz.

I want story not graphics I want story and feel to it damn it. and a boss fight that takes more than a few minutes which is the major problem with Bethesda endings. Still way better than oblivion where you did not even fight the end boss

How do we let Bethesda know our complaints if there was only some website that let us voice our opinions and Bethesda listens.
Alas Bethesda listening to its players is only a pipe dream.......
