How do you see your active effects?

OK this may sound like a silly question but how do you see your active effects (potion effects, diseases contracted etc)? In Morrowind they were above the spell list when you opened your inventory/skill list, in Oblivion you could see them at the side of the screen. Where are they in Skyrim?

They are in the "magic menu" the one where you can see the spells, shouts, powers your character has already learnt, etc.

Thanks! I hadn't thought to check there.

Yeah it is pretty annoying. Would be a great UI feature to have active buff icons with timers appear on your screen so you don't have to sift through menus and pause the game to check. This of course is an optional toggle for the immersion people.

You mean like they did in past games? Minus the optional part.

And they probably wouldn't be any more intrusive than the compass.
