How do you think Bethesda feels right now?

Post » Thu Oct 06, 2011 3:17 pm

Since the release of Skyrim is almost right around the corner, how do you think the developers at Bethesda are holding up? LOFL I can see them in my head all at their desks writing and typing like men possesed in order to get it out in time for 11/11/11.

Technically they have less to wait, as they're finished when the game "goes gold", which is weeks prior to release. If anything I actually think the wait is worse. Waiting for the influx of reviews, the acclaim, the criticism, the bug reports, and so on.

They just did a speedrun competition of Skyrim, so I think they are laid back...

Probably depends on their job, the people trying to iron out all the bugs and whatnot are probably stressed as hell though.

I'm sure Zenimax Media and Bethesda Softworks feels that way. Save for Todd Howard who may get royalties ontop of his pay check the development studio of Bethesda Softworks, aptly named Bethesda Game Studios, employees probably gets paid around the industry average.

Which isn't a large sum but not small either. Not like the corporate arm is getting anyways.

I'm sure being private feels nice though. I'll give them credit for that.

The developers are probably working through one of the most rushed and overworked periods of the whole project. Remember this isn't a team of a dozen but over a hundred. And even after the game goes gold work isn't over.

This is their job remember. Most will probably be anxious until the sales numbers and reviews pop up at which point they can sigh and let loose, celebrate with co-workers, family, and friends.

My educated guess would be October 25th to when Skyrim will be completed. That's 20 days from now.

Probably pretty laid back, Todd's doing a good job of getting people to fall for his tricks. Brings in the sales.

Hah. Like anyone is going to have anything bad to say about Skyrim. I'm predicting 10/10's all over the place.

I am hoping they feel as if they weren't fair with the PC and PS3 as the 360 and will show something before release.. or then it would become :obliviongate:

Nah, that was Fallout 3. Atleast Skyrim is getting EFFORT in trade for riches for Sugar Daddy Zenimax.

@rondcain Most likely. Unfortunate part of the job. Hopefully they're not in as bad shape as Team Bondi was in L.A. Noire.

Here I thought McNamera was a nice sport instead running his team to utter exhaustion.

There probably on a mad dash to finish all the little touch ups on the game. I remember when Oblivion was in development, some of their hardware failed just before release and they had to quickly replace some of their dev machines lol. Most people never heard that but it was in the making of dvd.

Lol, that really bothers you I take it. I've seen you mention it quite a few times. It's not like that over at BGS right now.
