Speaking of jokes I finally made a http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a160/MrDarkSim/tes5/849a6a38.jpg from http://video.advltswim.com/aqua-teen-hunger-force/billywitchdoctorcom.html. He's in the process of learning how to summon Mega-Ultra Chicken. Got the idea when Skyrim reviews were boasting about raising undead chickens.
I'd be REALLY impressed if you figured out how to add Frylock or Master Shake to Oblivion.

I'd be impressed too since the only time I tried to make a mesh it ended in uncontrollable fits of rage and weeping. Not really but it was disheartening.

Thank you! I know I haven't posted in a bit. Mostly because exams are so nearby. :(

Lol glargg.

You're gonna kill me, Acadian, but all this time I just assumed her name came from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yea, I know...

I thought so too :D

I've tried some random name generators, and some of them are quite good; im gathering a list of mildly interesting names and hope to mash em' up into something interesting :)

Although most of the time when im about 1 hour into the game, i go "damn i should have named my character etcetc" and i start banging my head on the keyboard.

That is a good question, I only use the name Sophia for my female characters but that can hinder a unique Roleplaying. Names from other games that someone said earlier in the thread is a good idea.

I've had this happen several times. Not just in TES, but in other games like Sims and Baldur's Gate, as well. Gotta have that "perfect" name. Gotta have it.

I agree, it is indeed important.

Just go ahead and change it. I have done that with more then one character. Unless you are on a console...

So, Azuron. Now that you're back end this debate we've been having. Are you talking about character names or class names?

I always used the default Adventurer or the little known Junkie class in TES games.

Class names... hmmmmmm.

I'm prolly the worst person to comment on this. When allowed to choose a class name I tend to instead select a word (or words) that describe or define my character. For my Daggerfall dark-elf, a custom built long-bladesman, I chose as class name "nonconformist", since that's how I saw him. I sidestepped the issue all together in Oblivion by going with a stock warrior...no customizing whatsoever. Long after the fact I decided that had I customized him, my avatar would be "nkompetent" (incompetent) since at the time of Uriel Septim's death that's what he was. Besides, it would be great to hear Baurus reply with, "Ha, I knew it!"

Class names...
I usually have an idea what kind of character I'm going to create up front. So I just try to give them something that sounds appropriate. Like "Outcast", or "Scoundrel", "Wizard", "Drunkard", etc. Some of my favorites so far have came from lore though - for example, a redguard specializing in conjuration (bound swords) was a Sword-Singer. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Sword-singer

I've only made two custom classes in Oblivion - one was just named 'Adventurer', because I wasn't feeling very original that day. The other was called 'Sneakmage' because he was a Mage who snuck. And also I wasn't feeling very original that day.

I look up the races names in previous games, and think of my own with similarities to those. Except for Khajiit names, those are fun to make up because of what the letters mean.

I like to RP, not like super role play but I walk everywhere, try to stay at inns and sleep often, and eat and drink lots. I dont want a name like Steve or something for my badass Dunmer conjurer/battlemage. I think I used a Dunmer name generator and switched a few letters around.

For class names I use the character’s name. So my custom battlemage named Jerric is custom class Jerric. I like to start ignoring things like class and stats as soon as possible, and that helps me.

"Goblins?"

"Yes, but from what I've seen so far," mused Baurus, "I'm guessing you're an experienced Jerric?"

"Yeah, that's what the ladies say."

"I figured as much." Baurus rolled his eyes. "I'm sure those rats and goblins won't give you any trouble then."
