How do you use Mines?

I know how to use mines, but what I'm asking is how do you use mines (if at all?)

I like mines, my Legion Courier likes to make powder charges, but I've got a pile of them and I can't seem to ever use the damn things. The last time I tried to set up a minefield trap between me and a group of enemies I made the noob mistake of doing it with Cazadores (surprise! Flying enemies don't set off mines!) What a rude awakening

So I'm thinking two ways: the Trap and the Lure (I'm obviously not in Marketing)

The Trap is where the patrolling enemy has a predictable path, when they walk off you plant some mines in their normal route and wait for them to come around again. This worked just great in FO3 when there was a lot more indoor levels but in FONV there arent that many opportunities since we dont go into many "dungeons" anymore

as for the Lure it works as described above, or should've if I had been fighting anything else besides those flying horrors: Plant a few before a pull and then after your opening shot they come-a-runnin' into the big ke-boom

Any other ideas?

I vehemently disagree. This is perfect marketing!
:D

I tried setting mines once, but it didn't fair well. For some reason, the enemy didn't trigger them, and it put me in a vicarious situation. In order to get out of it... I had to walk past my own damn trap.

*sigh*

Explosives and I are not great friends, and I'm going to leave it this way.
