How do you voice your NPCs?

I am doing the voice acting for my town mod and I have a dilemma. I wondered how far is it necessary to go when including voice acting. I am getting my voice scripts together for my voice actors and I am a bit overwhelmed with what dialog situations should be covered with the new voice acting and what is not necessary to cover for my town's residents.

So far I have been getting the main dialog voiced, but also some situational:

-Hellos

-Goodbyes

-Pickpocket dialog

However, if the player attacks an NPC the dialog will revert to the vanilla voice. A bit jarring, especially as one NPC is voiced in the traditional Morrowind Dunmer style gravelly voice. However, the player is not supposed to be attacking the town's NPCs, granted some will do it, but why should I cater to it.

Then there is the dialog for seeing someone else attacked, or seeing a dead body etc etc etc....

- What dialog situation topics do you cover when making custom voiced NPCs that are not followers, just basic NPCs?

Also quick question, where is the dialog for trespassing in the Quest/Dialog window?

If you make your own voice types, the vanilla dialogue should never occur, not even in combat situations.

To answer your question: I'd create some scenes too, because I love scenes. But else you got the most important covered (topics, hellos, goodbyes). You should include combat dialogue too if you have a boss or something, but else that isn't that important.

You will find trespass dialogue in the Combat section.
