How do you want the Dark Brotherhood to operate in game?

Hello everyone.

For those who are not aware of this, the Dark Brotherhood is currently not in the game, and will apparently be placed in as additional content at a later stage. (Hopefully sooner rather than later).

So brings the question, at the top of the page.

  • What functions would you like to see in the Brotherhood?

  • What quest lines would you like to see in the Brotherhood?

  • What benefits would you like to see, from joining them?

The Dark Brotherhood will focus very strongly on my nightblade character. So I want to start a debate, if one has not already been done, and get some feelers going to see what other likeminded player would want to see in this guild.

Bounty.

  • Accepting bounties that could be for NPC’s in towns and cities, or even players in the RvRvR, or certain races in the realms.

Dialogue choices (putting the frighteners on people).

  • New dialogue options when interacting with merchants and NPC’s, hinting to them that you know things about them and the brotherhood connection could give rise to new dialogue choices.

Access to unique looking items.

  • The cestus weapon is like a punch dagger, short to medium blade, held like a set of brass knuckles. Very unique looking weapons and armour would be a great of advertising you’re a member without actually saying.

Whats your thoughts?

Quest lines focused on obtaining and completing contracts will certainly play major role in the guild.

But how about completing contracts to take out other players?

think that could work?

Ideally, (albeit not possible without world PvP I'd think) I would like to see a system that allows one to perform the Black Sacrament, supply the info and the gold, then let the Night Mother take it from there.

The target and their information is passed along from the Listener, through the Speaker and onto an associate. The associate takes down the target and returns to the local Sanctuary to claim the rewards, as they await the next... project.

Well, no open pvp means no meaningful bounties (ala EVE), so it's either going to be generic quests, or generic pvp quests (kill x amount of players)

It won't be what you're hoping.

Named npc kill targets. We get quest, go kill them, then head back to base and get reward. Just like in other Elder Scrolls games.

Would love complicated quests like the dinner party murders.

Do not want to ever have to perform a cleansing ritual.

Do want Shadowmere as a reward.

Honestly, adding Assassination mission on other players would be awesome. Should be possible in Cyrodiil, maybe even outside of that.

well,i also think the prior installments could work; just kill NPCs,

and i wouldn't mind if the endperk is some legendary weapon and/or Shadowmere

maybe some special armor sets which would associate you with the guild, and the OP has some interesting suggestions too

i just dno't see how it could work since A; you'll need a player's name

B; you need to find the player somewhere in Cyrodiil

amd C; you'll need to be able to get to them and kill them before being killed yourself,

Yeah, although I don't know about anyone else, but I used that for all guild activities, especially for assassination simply because of its abilities.

And it has that assassin look to it.

I posted a topic about this, about how the guilds will operate, I think it should be a pvp thing, someone performs the sacrament, and hires the brotherhood to kill a player for whatever reason, and people in the brotherhood carry it out and get the reward

It is a great looking set, that's for sure and it fits well for any sneaky type. It's just not a Black Hand reward.

welcome to the brotherhood, this isn't the easy game like skyrim where they give you exactly where he is, you have to do the leg work, ask around, and find him yourself, and maybe there should be a system where if you die from the contract player you lose the contract and someone else can pick it up.

1. Contracts.

2. Special hideout access including a phrase password.

3. Dark Brotherhood armour, weapons, rewards.

I want the whole experience i got from Skyrim.

I thought of another ability you could obtain.

On your character screen in game, you have you armour slots and weapon slots, you also have jewelry and a costume slot.

The brotherhood could allow for the ability to make a bundle of random armour pieces to be assembled into costumes so you can hide your identity when on a contract. if it all goes wrong but you managed to escape. you quickly change costume and the guards or authorities are no longer looking for you. minimising your threat levels with towns guards and NPC's who may give you away.

It will probably be generic kill this NPC and come back to me for a hat with +1 hp type thing.

That's understandable for a single player game, but they could do so much more in an MMO.
