Well I'm going to preorder the super special chocolate sprinkle edition and TRY to get it on the first day it comes out. I'll probably neglecting eating and exercise the first day and just sit in my dark room playing... :spotted owl:

Just like I did with OB, first buy the PS3 version and play it to exhaustion until GOTY comes out, which I buy for the PC, sicne by that time modders will have already improved the game to a whole new level

Shortly before the release date, I will probably either build a new PC, or at least upgrade the graphics card in an existing PC. The later I leave it, the more kit I will be able to get for my money, so I am likely to start the release day fine tuning the system, and making sure my 3D telly/glasses work, before going into town to buy the game when the shops open.

I will likely be spending the morning (as in midnight and on) in a line in front of the gamestop with my pre-order reciept and some money. I will then go home and catch some sleep before waking up and firing up the xbox.

On the release day? The same I did when Oblivion was released, probably. That is, check if the CS is available for download, and if not, kindly ask on forums when it'll be available and wait with any purchase until it is.

Oh man... I'd flip. Especially since I'm likely taking a week off from work when it comes out.

With Bethesda silent and with us waiting for over 4 years now for an announcement, not to mention the game itself, i will probably spend the release day in a wheelchair watching my grandchildren play TESV. :snoring:

Run 40 miles to the nearest GameStop to get my exercise in for the month.

Buy TESV.

Walk out of GS and realize that it's another 40 miles back to my house.

Get mad.

Run back home at twice the speed I ran to GS.


In reality, I'll order it with same-day shipping, and depending on when it is released, I'll either go on with my day like it's a weekend or skip classes.

Ill compeletly lose track of time in my TESV world. I wont eat for several days. Ill lose all my friends, my girlfriend, my dog will die, and ill be compeltly unaware due to my immersion into this game.

Somedays before the release, I′ll be very happy and probably unfocused. On the day, well, I′ll probably just read the manual... Yeah right. I′ll spend the next 5 hours playing. And drinking energy drinks.

I will go to a midnight opening for the game at Gamestop. I will be first in line and will play it the second I wake up in the morning. Gonna be hard to sleep
Once I play it I will start, if they included it, in the arena and make some serious money and learn the combat skills of Gaiden Shinji. oh yea.
After that I will start the main quest, finish it, then explore.

It's simple, I'll play TESV of course.

Day before TESV release: Get lots of sleep.

Day of release: Buy game from store as soon as store opens in morning. (Buy extra copy and give to my little brother too...praying for TESV multiplater :bowdown: )

Week of release: Play TESV nearly nonstop...yes I would have taken the whole week as vacation just for this.

Well most likly I will be first in line, will have already taken 4 days off work, will play it for 3 days stright (except when I have to go to class) and then just play, play, play until I beat the main plot and the guild plots. Then I will still play for a bit more. (I did this for ODST) lol

I will plan this day out a week ahead of time to make sure it can be as distraction free as possible. I will attend the midnight release and most likely be first in line to receive my pre-ordered limited edition copy and desperately speed home. I will look over all of the extras I received with the limited edition copy while I wait for it to complete loading. I'll most likely play until i fall asleep at the controller (yes I'm a console player pcs are too expensive). And i will continue to play all the next day and throughout the week year ! :celebration:

It'll probably be my senior year of high school when TESV comes out so I'll say I'm sick and then I'll go pick it up at Gamestop and play all day.

Get on the forums and rage at people misjudging it based on their first hours of playtime? Rage at people viewing Morrowind and Daggerfall from nostalgia that think every feature from those two games was orgismic, and there wasn't just as much mindless filler and stupid dungeons/useless dialogue and equipment, unimpressive combat, and worthless NPC conversations/text?

Not that I'm some sort of Oblivion devoted fan, but at least I rag on it for the things it actually did wrong compared to Morrowind and Daggerfall, like less content and stupid plot.

My first response to one of these threads, like a year ago, "I'll pick it up at my local Gamestop, stock my mini fridge with pop, and get some cheese based snack crackers, and then just play away."

Or something of that sort. I might have been in an argument over whether or not Cheese Nips are better than Cheeze-Its. I remember useless things.

After the letdown of the last TES game, I'll probably spend the day (or the next several) ignoring the new release until enough people whose opinions I respect have played it for long enough to make a "rational" assessment of it. If that seems promising enough, THEN I'll pick up a copy and play hermit for the next couple of days. If the comments start leaning toward the "it looks really great, but I'm already getting bored with it", then I'll have to decide whether to wait 2 years for it to hit the budget bin, or skip it entirely.

Only if your partner doesn't consider installing a new TES to be a fine way to spend his birthday.
