How is your character?

Mage type for certain.

Conjurer/Alchemist are probably my main focus if I stick to tradition.

I always play a Battle-Mage, and slay [censored]s with mah fat sword, then proceed to burn them away with a fire-type spell.

The Battlespire trained him to be a Battlemage - if nothing else he'll still keep up that title for nostalgia's sake.

This is a very hard question.
For some reason I am not a magic type at all and would choose a class without any magic skills whatsoever, if there was one without making me too weak... But I think magic is a core part of TES so there is no way of avoiding it in my character choice...
I usually go for bow+sword ranger type of guy (hopefully with spear in skyrim) with alchemy, but I don't want to be a thief, I don't like stealing things, and then this type gets kinda boring.

I guess I will be a priest type with a small mace+heavy armor+restoration magic combination.

First character is always either a High Elf or Breton battlemage, I'll switch between a longsword and a staff.

Second character is a Dunmer/Human assassin with some magic skills.

I tend to play a battlemage. I usually wear armor with sword and board. I then make heavy use of healing, conjuration and destruction to help my fighting. Then I use alteration to make make life easier in general.

Merari, I'd like you to meet Mitheledh. Mith, is also quite fond of destruction and enjoys "heavy healing" :hubbahubba: And don't forget, having someone with alteration will make your life easier in general. Forget your giant daedric key to your wizard tower? No problem when you have someone like Mith.

Thank you for participating in tEs harmony.

I am always a ranger bowman.

I NEVER use any form of magic. No not even the basic healing/fire spells.

Magic is an immersion killer for me.. I prefer the rugged, survivalist way.

Definitely something that uses marksman! thats by far my favourite skill in the game.

Sneaky assassin type usually, but if they reintroduce thrown weapons and spears (especially throwing spears) i'll probably go for a skirmisher type specialising in bow and spears.

I see that there is a lot o people that enjoy (just like me) the sneak feature of the game...

I really hope that skyrim bring us some upgrade in the sneak and foe′s perception system... cuz it′s good to shot an arrow in the head of an foe in a cave, but then, the rest of the enemies just pass by the dead corpse and have absolutely no reaction...

I really wish a improvement in this thread for Skyrim... Something close to Metal Gear (enemies react when find a dead body in the ground, and start looking for someone who couse that... They react even with blood trails, noises and footprints)... Actually, more "alert levels" would improve a lot in the sneak system and make the game more fun and realistic.

I agree with this completely. But only if they allow me to *really* pick up the bodies and hide them. Not the strange telepathic grab from Oblivion and Fallout.*

*I'll admit I appreciate that tele-grab. Made decorating quite a bit easier than Morrowind.

i start out as a Breton warrior mage, i think its a perfect combo specially with either the mage or apprentice birth sign... always carry a long sword, light armor, with a staff as a back up or when i get in trouble and there are multiple bad guys in a room and i blast the hell out of them....

fyi ive only played Oblivion (few hundred hours) and just got morrowind to old me over til 11/11/11.....

My last character was a wood elf marksmen with a custom class, with sneak, acrobat, pickpocket and illusion spell...

Sneak = pickpocket
If you are playing Oblivion then definitely join the Dark Brotherhood; those are part of their skill-set.

I will most likely go ahead and play my stereotypical male Breton custom spellsword class. Although we obviously know little about Skyrim's skills, I would say whatever comes out to be Blade, Restoration, Illusion, Block, Heavy armor, and Athletics/Acrobatics. That all depends on how major (minor?) skills are set up. I find that Bretons are good both as and against mages, I have good melee, illusion can be quite useful to get enemies to attack each other and give me a stealth compliment. As stated before, this all depends on how the skills are arranged in Skyrim. Will have to wait for magazine/release to find out.

Since Morrowind I have always played first with a Mercenary type of character. Then when i know the game a little I make a new Necromancer type of character. Much more challenge ^^

A what? Mercenaries in medieval times often used pikes or crossbows (of course depending on where they are from). Seeing as how neither of those are in the game, I have to assume 20th century. Seeing as how guns aren't in the game, I have no clue what you just said. Telling us what skills/attributes/speciailization the classes are would help a lot. Telling us what they're close to would do just as fine.

Paladins are my thing... They use plate mail, blades, maces, marksman, know the arts of alchemy and restoration and repair their gear.

Mercenaries are warriors and outlaws for hire, for the right price they fight for you, regardless how they feel about you or your cause. It is in the money their loyalty lays. and that makes them quite like the warrior/barbarian class when it comes to skills. Doesn't matter the weapon as long as it does the job, but having a good speechcraft helps to raise the price for their service. In morrowind I have the lady as sign, strength and luck major attribute. Major Skills: Axe-Spear-Longblade-Heavy Armor-Speechcraft. Minor skills: Armorer-Marksman-Athletics-Block-Acrobatics. This have worked out very nice for me atleast :)
