How is your character?

Post » Fri Jun 04, 2010 4:12 pm

Just wondering how you guys play the game... Are you a Warrior? a Mage? a Thief?

Before my first contact with Oblivion, every similar game i′ve played, i was a Paladin or Warrior (with a great sword), but after i met the Sneak Attack and the whole new strategy to play in stealth mode, now i enjoy to play everything as a Thief... Hiding in the shadows, moving silent and attacking in a good spot with my bow...

My last character was a wood elf marksmen with a custom class, with sneak, acrobat, pickpocket and illusion spell...

What′s yours?

Technically, OP, yours is more of an assassin than a thief. I usually play as a thief, because stealing and lock picking are my favorite parts of the game.

Oh yeah, and this doesn't have much to do with Skyrim.

My first playthrough on these types of games is always with a sneaky thief type character. For some reason, I've never really done much with a mage character - I think I just like to bash things too much :P

I usually play a mix of mage and stealth, or a pure warrior.

I dont know what I will be in Skyrim yet. It heavily depends on the game mechanics for the three specializations.

Oh, I'll probably do my usual starting combination. Something of a combination between a warrior and a rogue.

I usually start with a pure thief/assassin, followed by a pure mage. After that, I usually play a stealth/mage combination and a combat class (usually a scout).

My main character is always a Nord warrior but I also have a sneaky assasin/thief, it's a lot of fun (specially with mods).

Mage, I add sword and athletic skills. Don't like staffs, I stick with my own magic and I wield a sword for looks.

I usually start off as a warrior but then as my skills increase I tend to be more of an assasin or theif.

Did you come into this thread just to correct the OP?

Anyway to answer your question OP my character is master of ALL disciplines, bow down before his might MWAHAHAHA!!!

But seriously my main character usually starts off as a ranger type character kind of like Aragorn (yeah original I know).

My first char will be a Nord Warrior, both by tradition and because it's easier to get the hang of the game with it. Then, once I'm used to Skyrim, I'll create a Battlemage (my favourite class).

Typically some kind of female bow hunter going for outdoor skills and survivalism and alchemy, with a dash of restoration. Personality is key. Don't think I ever tried the beast races. When I at level 40 can have a fist fight with a two ton mean Ogre machine, and get away with it, I just make a new ones, because the game is just boring random dungeon hopping beyond that point.

Depending on the options, I will most probably be a Breton/Mage/Mage again, with lots of attention to developing sword, security and sneak.
Worked best for a start up char. in Oblivion and is working well in Morrowwind.

I always am an Orc warrior (blades, not blunt) that steals things once in a while (whenever I get the chance), and I sometimes use magic (only restoration and destruction). I almost never use marksman. And I use heavy or medium armor. I never use alchemy (unless I want to gather ingredients to sell them).

His name shall be Marcales.

A who's surprisingly dextrous and can wield a bow. He takes advantage of his fur-lined paws' natural stealth to sneak for a backstab as well. I haven't figured it out yet, but those fur-lined paws seem to naturally attract other peoples' goods....

Nope, if you actually read the rest of my post you will see I actually came to participate in the discussion unlike yourself.

You apparently haven't noticed that I answered the OP's question in my first post as well, which means your reply was pointless. Now let's stop derailing this thread.

My first character is always sneaky character, usually night elf.

:stare: Did you seriously just refer to my beloved Dunmer as Night Elves? I challenge you to a duel sir! :slap:

Now then, to answer the question. My "main" and first character is always my favorite race and class. Dunmer, Assassin/Mage hyrbid.
I use illusion to enhance my stealth and to charm. It also comes in handy when fights get too serious. Just go invisible and run! I generally prefer longswords unless I find a awesome dagger and sometimes use destruction magic at higher levels. Light or medium armor, always wear a hood/closed helm/mask to look awesome and prefer alteration to security. Then I get armorer to repair my own gear and Alchemy because I love making potions!

That's the general idea of my character.

My second character is usually a Nord or Orc Warrior/Mage hyrbid. I love me some sword and board

Edit* I forgot to mention anytime I see a thread like this I think of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Seih4VAd2ck&feature=related In particular at the 24 second mark.
