This hasn't been brought up in any article I've seen yet, but I've been anxious to know to what extent Mr. House is based on the real life Howard Hughes. Since you guys at Obsidian first mentioned him as the elusive surveillance obsessed overlord of New Vegas I've assumed that Mr. House was based in part on Howard Hughes, specifically the last ten years of his life 1966 to 1976 when he began buying up large amounts of Las Vegas real estate including hotels and casinos and was known as a bit of a paranoid recluse. Now you show pictures representing Mr. House and they look just like Howard Hughes from the 1940's.
I'm surprised that no interview I've read has made this link as it was stated before BioShock came out that the Andrew Ryan character was at least partly inspired by Hughes, and the references in F:NV previews to Hughes seem more overt.
I was wondering if anyone could confirm my suspicion that the game will feature more detailed parallels that someone with knowledge of Howard Hughes might pick up on. Or is the connection mostly a superficial one? I'm sure at least some article out there makes the connection. I've got the game pre-ordered on Steam and am dying to explore the House storyline.
Thanks
