So, hows would Crysis 2 perform on this PC?

Post » Wed Jul 13, 2011 7:39 pm

I plan on making a computer with the following specs:

Mobo: Biostar A880G+
RAM: 4GB (plan on getting another 4GB stick later for 8GB)
CPU: AMD Phenom X3 720 (if possible, might unlock to X4) (should be OC'd past 3.0Ghz either way)
GPU: Radeon HD 5770

If anything, I plan on running Crysis 2 at the max of 1024x768 (I need to upgrade my screen big time), and if performance isn't "as" great, I might disable AA. But what settings would Crysis 2 run at?

Well, the 5770 wont be able to handle DX11 much, nor the high rez textures. The reason i know this is because my 5850 can't

Oh, guess thats not a big deal. Didn't expect to do DX11 anyway, but the high res textures I thought wouldn't make much of a difference.

With my 5850, I can play DX11, high res, on high, never dropping below 50fps @ 1080x1920. You must be talking about ultra? If I were to play the game with everything on ultra (apart from objects, because tessellation is off the menu for obvious reasons) I would get 30fps, dropping to low 20s at times.

You could play the game in DX11 mode on high with a 5770 @ 1280x720 and get 50fps all the time.

I have a gtx 260, it runs the game maxed out without high res textures and without dx11. Since the 5770 is slightly faster, it should run the game fine

If you're going to buy the 5770 as a first card I'd recommend against it, you can get either a 460 gtx or a 6870 for cheap.

I got two in crossfire and it wont even run at a tidy res in ultra. Also I wouldn't bother running at 1024 x 768 for this game in dx11, a bit of a waste running dx11 features at a low res.
