So, I know that the guys from the UK, and that he wanted a "new challenge" and to provide a comfortable way of living for others...but HOW? WHEN,Did he get to the U.S.? Why the U.S.? What, he just sailed hundreds of miles to the U.S. on a HUNCH that he could find something to do cause he was bored??...I'm just very confused with his purpose, what business he has on the other side of the pond, and how he manged to do it all.

Please fill me in if I'm missing something, I read the Fallout Wiki page, but his whole reason for being there just feels like lazy writing.

There is zero info on the basics of writing. We have no idea "when" "why" and "how" he came to end up in America. We don't know "where" he left from or "where" he landed in America or "who" if anyone he came with.

Fallout 3 doesn't even say in the game or game guide that he came from the UK. It was in a dev interview that they confirmed he came from there. So really if you're looking for cold hard facts... you aren't going to find jack. Bethesda was just being super lazy. They had a chance to tell an awesome story, yet didn't.
