20 Hrs in Survival? What's the point........

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 11:08 am

It may be attached to your level but the farther I got in the story line the more there were. Survival took me a little ofver 24 hours to finish the main quests. And more and more ledgendary mobs would show up. It was a pain at lvl 17. Started on normal just to explore. There is a big differance. have only seen 6 or so ledendary mobs and lvl 22 now. But not that far into the story also.

Don't think difficulty affect quality of legendary drops, level is more important here.

In my experience, this is correct. Difficulty only effects how often they spawn

Does anybody actually use the legendary items?

I have a box full of them at my Sanctuary Settlement and, frankly, I don't use any of them.

Mostly don't just use the best,

I like collecting synth parts, so far got 4 only 3 parts.

Best one I got is (from 100+ legendaries) :

synth part with this effect :

+2 luck

free slow motion/ jet when health below 20%

I got laser rifle that do additional laser, but I don't use laser weapon.

I got .50 sniper rifle that does +50 radiation damage, +25 bleed damage.

Well most of it I don't use, point is I still use the best one.

It's difficult to make this seem more life like when some enemies take a full arsenal to kill. Good thing is, we still get to experience the RPG play style of this game, and I am truly grateful for it. However, endgame, it still feels easy. It would be nice if enemies level scaled with your own. Kinda like how FF8 was.

I suppose the best way to keep this as lifelike as possible would be how Halo2 legendary difficulty is played. Enemies can practically one shot you in the head, just the same as the player can most enemies.

I found the reference! :) http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_creatures(admittedly I haven't checked any game files, but by experience it does seem to be true. There also seem sto be a gradual phasing in of legendary enemies up to lvl 20 or something, but I've found plenty before that. That might just be biased false-confirmation guesswork tbh.)

I agree with bullet sponges not being all that fun. For that reason I use this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/222/?

You can decide where on the difficulty scale you want your damage to be. I started at hard, but once I got lvl 2 weapon mods I felt that very hard was more appropriate. You could also increase enemy damage even further for later on in the game when you've got your power armor on 24/7

Thanks for the link!

Also, us old school players should add that this game was, and the most part, still is an RPG. With any RPG, the game is meant to get easier the better gear and level we have.

I really hope Beth never turns this franchise into a COD style game. We have plenty of those already.
