HUD design (and FOV)

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:38 am

This is a concern of mine regarding Crysis 2 on PC. The new HUD seen on every preview seems perfectly suited to console users average distance to screen, but will probably look too big and take too much screen space when playing on a PC monitor. So, can I ask Crytek to consider adding an option to tweak it's size on PC or redesign it to better suit the PC platform?

Same problem with FOV, weapons will look enormous and field of view too narrow when sitting in front of my laptop or desktop PC...

That's because we've only seen official console resolution and settings screenshots. The leaked beta's HUD is perfectly fine with regards to size, it just scales with screen resolution as all good games do.

I thought the same but as TheComfyChair said it's because what has been shown hasn't been on PC or with PC settings.

And the FOV is correct for a PC game?

It'll be adjustable anyway, considering that the configs have remained from crysis 1. There is no 'correct' FOV for a PC game anyway, it depends on the opinion of the player.

Personally i don't like the standard 55 (vertical) FoV on bad company 2 for example (so i changed it to 75), but many players are just fine with it.
