Huge base I'd like to share

Post » Sun Feb 07, 2016 12:30 am

So I made this huge base but I had no idea whom to share it with. I actually built an even bigger base in the castle but this one is based in sanctuary. I like to call it sanctuary city regarding its size. I'm curious what you guys think of it. I cannot post a link but the video name in youtube is: TOUR IN ENORMOUS BASE [SANCTUARY | FALLOUT 4].

You should find it by searching for this title. My youtube account is robin_roboro or Roboro, so you could also find it via there.

I did read the community guidelines before posting this and hope I'm not violating any. I'm not trying to advertise, just to share. I hope to get some good feedback for future builds and I hope you guys will enjoy it.

Just search for "tour in enormous base in sanctuary roboro" and it's the first result. It really is enormous!

Thanks dude I hope you enjoyed it. I will also share the castle that I finished now. I've got everything done the only thing that's left is equipping all my settlers with gear to fit them into stores/guardposts etc. Castle is more impressive than this one because I'm more experienced in building. Mentionsworthy is also that this is done on ps4, so no console commands or anything.

What kind of lights do you use for the blinking sign?

I used lightboxes and connected them through timers so first one word showed and then the other one. I made it so that the letters all had their own lightboxes, no lightboxes could be shared to achieve this effect unless Id make all the letters the same color. Building such a big billboard is unfortunately too heavy for a ps4 to handle so you cant leave them on or it will be extremely laggy.

how long are you loading times? is it the only settlements? does your game crash?

cause i have built ALL possible settlements now (normal sizes) and my loading times after 280 hours are reaaaaaaaaally long

Only loading times really close to this settlement take longer but it doesnt exceed 1 minute of loading. The rest is fine, this settlement only has a lot of frame rate drops unfortunately.

i started to become more scared becuase i had quite a few crashes onto desktop so far and they tend to corrupt my savegames for no apparent reason

did you use a mod or use the weapon-at-workbench trick for the size?

Another nice thing you can do with lights, connect them to siren/alarm. When attack, the whole settlement will light up. I wish I had some red lights, now I only have white.

You can change colour by selecting a light and pressing X (clicking) or do it via terminal. Im on ps4, so the workbench glitch had to be utilized :D

Wow! I didn't realize you could build that elaborate! I'm on xbox1, I should be able to build like that right? Or do I need to enter a cheat in order to do that? I heard that there are restrictions to the number of items built in a settlement! But your city is just impressive and inspirational! I know there's bugs with the building a settlement tool but the endless creativity makes it worth it!

Well, not that I've had horrendous problems with it like many insist they are, but how are you dealing with attacks?

Anyways, looks huge, I assume you used some kind of unlimited resources mod?

Really should have enabled the Pip Boy light though. No sense trying to show people stuff in darkness. And the latest patch supposedly also fixes the problem of things falling through tables or floors.

Havent had any attacks but if they pop up i just kill the damned raiders :P. Also ive got enough defences. Pip boy would take away ablot of the atmosphere, i can see it all just fine so maybe adjust the brightness? I built this on ps4, no unlimited resource bug but there is a way to easily get cash and that I utilized together with the material sellers in diamond city to build this.

So then there is no limit on the size of the buildings you can build. And your saying you can achieve all of that legitly while acquiring all resources needed through sauaging, bartering and resource lines?

Theres a glitch to get rid of the size meter, this comes with consequences cause my sanctuary is now kind of bugged and laggy but i liked the basebuilding experience. Also there are legitimate, although some may call it exploits, ways to get a lot of caps. I don't want to spoil it for you but if youre really curious then just go to the how-to section of my youtube channel and click the "how to get caps" video.
