Huge Crysis3 development plans?

So, did EA prevented further huge Crysis 3 development plans?
Will there be any future DLCs?
I pray for it.

Hopefully no because DLC would make things worse.

A couple of years later it can be C3 Maximum Edition with all DLCs included. I dont understand, how new modes, maps and weapons can be a bad thing.
Im asking just because Cevat Yerli said about pig plans on DLC development.

Lost Islands DLC was that development. There are multiple reasons to believe why we won't see any further development on Crysis 3 MP:

1) The number of people currently playing Crysis 3 is less than 2000 total across all 3 platforms during peak hours, dropping to as low as <600 during off-peak, and falling. Not enough potential buyers for DLC.

2) Each DLC release splits the already-small playerbase even further, spreading them thinly over too many maps/modes and sever types. Consoles especially ended up with something like 18 potential separated playlists, which is absurd. People who want to play DLC can barely find anyone to play it with, and people who want to play the regular game have lost players to DLC...everyone suffers.

3) Lost Islands DLC - only 2 weeks after release most DLC servers dried up with almost nobody playing on them, little has changed. You still have an incredibly tiny number of DLC server options and that's putting aside the issue of getting a reasonable ping/latency to those servers coming down to luck (or living in USA). If that has taught people anything, it's to avoid buying further DLC for this game.

It would just be a huge waste of money AND hurt the playerbase further.

A company can't succeed with DLC for a game where the very core concepts/foundations are flawed. Crytek are still at the first step of having a game with a solid foundation. Filling it with so much BS from the very beginning (too many one-shot-kill mechanics, overpowered killstreak perks, Auto Armor) and failing to build on Crysis 2's strengths has driven players away.

I think thats just because of lack of interest from developers side. Just lack of marketing strategy. And how that can be after you say, thats the game is "so far, our masterpiece".

The game is really brilliant, I love its solid scifi slant. And I dont understand, how Cryengine developers can recognize they defeated on their face game product.

Everyone knows CryTek for their FarCry and Crysis. Failing on master franchise is not just financial failing. This is image falling for game and software developer both. I dont believe CryTek surrenders so easy, and their participation in Humble Origin Bundle is just speaks about it.

Otherwise, if they washed their hands, I just want to know it from official source.

Too right.

Wait...I don't think we're on the same page here. When you said words like "development" and "DLC" I immediately assumed you're talking about multiplayer, because that's the ONLY area where EA/Crytek planned for the game to expand (this was confirmed before C3 was even released). Lost Islands is the only multiplayer DLC so far and it did more damage than good, I posted why I felt that this game is best left alone with no more maps/modes added, it only needs bug fixes and balancing.

So when you bring up Far Cry and Crysis I'm a little confused, those games were huge successes purely as stand-alone singleplayer games with no DLC to speak of.
Crysis 3 is also a relative success in terms of singleplayer, Crytek haven't "failed" on their master franchise at all as far as sales and reception go, dunno why you would say that. Alright so the campaign was really short and difficulty was piss-easy (I want to see the next Crysis game be a LOT longer and far more difficult), granted, but it still scored well overall.

There are two completely separate sides when discussing things on this forum - singleplayer, and multiplayer. All my gripes so far have only been about multiplayer, the majority of the "Crytek have failed" part only applies to multiplayer.

I feel Crytek are bit clueless in terms of knowing what makes a solid multiplayer foundation seeing as how they completely kicked ALL ideas from Crysis 1 MP to make a CoD-style Crysis 2 MP, and then kicked tons of good ideas from Crysis 2 MP to have the brainless one-shot-fest "catering to newbies" BS that is Crysis 3 MP.

It's like...holy balls, talk about repeatedly missing the mark.

I just puzzled with two facts - the first one - is Crysis 3 producer Cevat Yerli words about big plans on furher C3 extension, and the second is - Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen words about Crysis 3 didn't meet sales expectations.

Did EA CFO means singleplayer, multiplayer or both - I dont think it's important. Whats important is - how that impacts on "big plans". Personally my interest in game strongly continues while its development and support continued - I dont really care sp or mp part of this game continued, just want to think, the game is not dead already (the way sp and mp parts of ME3 was - its falloff just after last DLC was released).

I asked because I love this game - single and multiplayer also. Im coming in c2/c3 mp after Battlefield3, to change gaming experience, and Im sure, I will, when BF4 will be released also. Nanosuit battles are great after BF3 gaming.

Just wanna know, do this game have a future, or not. I strongly hope - it is. And I hope, CryTek still love their child.

I still laugh when I think of Cevat's previously mentioned 'big plans' and then look at the Lost Island DLC... *giggle*

Now, let's not mix pears and apples... developers (CryTek) make games, publishers (EA) sell games.
It's EA's fault for failing with marketing and not maintaining.

CryTek rox, EA sux!
