Huge Problem with MCA?

Hey everyone,

I'm having a really big problem with Morrowind Comes Alive (I have 5.1 and the 5.2 patch.) I start a new game, leave the boat, get my papers, then right when I go through the door to go outside (where you get Fargoth's ring, before entering the building to see Sellus), my game freezes, the graphics go wild (like turn red and black and white) and this even caused me to get a Blue Screen of Death once. I know that it has to do with MCA because it works fine when I disable it.

Now, I'm running Morrowind Advanced as well, and I know they conflict and I have yet to merge the level lists (still in the process of doing some other housekeeping for my other mods and testing my game) but would not having the lists merge cause this much chaos? Is this a common problem with MCA? What could be going on?

Can you post your load order? If you haven't already done so, have you tried mlox on your load order? (It also makes it easy to post your load order).

Hey GrimZ, looks like you have the 'MW_Adv_Required.esp' loading but not the main 'Morrowind Advanced.esm'.

Either remove the esp and see if that fixes things, or leave it and add in the main esm. ;)

Hahah oops! I got that file from the BTB site, thought it was the whole mod =P I'm downloading the .esm now, but do you think fixing MA will fix the whole problem regarding morrowind comes alive as well? Because the Morrowind Advanced thing seemed to not have any effect at all?

To update, the addition of Morrowind Advanced .esm along with MCA and MCA Guard Patch (ditched the more enemies one) seems to have made it worse, lol. Now I can't even get up to the census office door without a major freakout, it's so bad it actually made my graphics card stop working and left my screen speckled, even when the game was shut off! I'm not sure what to do, have you guys ever heard of this happening before?

I'd try that first and see what results you get. If the problem persists, then maybe try removing plugin _049_ CalSurGuardMod.esp next. I'm just suggesting things to try that seem most probable to be causing a conflict - others might recognize the specific offender. :toughninja:

Alright, so pretty much just disable distant land, get out of the census office, and then try to turn it back on and see what happens?

I can say with relative certainty that nothing on my mod list would be causing an issue like this - with the possible exception of MGE.

Disabling distant land is always one of the first things I do when troubleshooting any issue, along with any mod that relies on MWSE (in my experience, they are notoriously prone to problems like this).
