Huge Problems. (Mods)

Post » Tue Jan 26, 2016 10:28 pm

So I'm very new to the whole modding community on PC. A few days ago my Skyrim save was completely ruined. I deleted the saves, all my mods, even skyrim itself. Now, I'm trying to add just a couple of mods to make my experience more realistic, It ran at first but then i went to Whiterun and it crashed completely. I loaded up my last save (when i exited helgen) and it wouldn't work, I reinstalled everything all over again and deleted that save. Now, it crashes right on the loading screen.

I would really appreciate any suggestions to fix this.

It would be much much easier if you contacted me on skype-(Privateplay_HD) or messaged me on twitter (@The_PPHD)

Thanks for reading!

This may seem strange, but have you tried literally going into your Skyrim directory and deleting everything from there? A while ago I was having a huge problem with my save because I had a lot of conflicting mods installed; I uninstalled the game through Steam and reinstalled it and it still wouldn't work, so I did it again, and it still didn't work. Then what I did was I deleted the Skyrim directory and then reinstalled the game and it worked like a charm! This was quite sometime ago now so it might not work for you and it may have been just a fix for the problems I was having.

Also could I ask what mods you were using? It would be easier to pinpoint a problem with that information :)

Like you mean going into the skyrim folders and deleting all of the mods and skyrim? Yeah i tried that and steam reinstalled everything. Would you mind adding me on Skype or messaging me on twitter? I can send a picture of all my mods there. Oh, I think it's worth mentioning that I use Nexus Mod Manager, Not Steam Workshop or manual. My Skype and Twitter are in the first post. Thanks!! :)

Welcome to the wide world of modding! Pull up a chair, it is as sunny or shady as you like it over here.

Make sure you have all the required mods for what you are downloading. In general, most mods will require at least http://skse.silverlock.org/ and many will require http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3863/?for management through the MCM.

I also highly recommend a load order sorting program, unless you know exactly how each mod is interacting with the master files, and every other mod in your load order. I personally use https://loot.github.io/.
