Human+Beast Races Marriage

Post » Wed Sep 28, 2011 8:54 pm

How come we don't see half breeds? I hate to say it that way but I can't think of any way to put it. Half khajiit and half human? Half Argonian and half human? Or even half orc? I personally think this would be fantastic.

Yes; I think it makes that pretty clear.

"It is less clear"
"though it is by no means clear"
"is at present not well understood"
"has yet to be empirically established or refuted"

Lore nonetheless.

Where have we actually seen an interracial relationship in Tamriel?

I think it would be an interesting choice, and very much in keeping with the established views on beastfolk.

There've been quite a few.
Two come to mind immediately, because they were talked about by NPCs in Oblivion. A http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Glistel/http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Malintus_Ancrus in Chorrol, and a Bosmer/Nord (can't think of their names atm) in Anvil.

Yes some of my character will marry bestial race (and not only bestial character) I think. The biggest problem I can see are the "thorns" on the male khajiit accessory. That would hurt. So I'm not sure I will marry a male one. And yes! People should definitely judge us. I would also like for us to have the possibility of gay relationship (if we can have interracial, that doesn't sound so unlikely) and being judged for it too!

It doesn't count as bestiality. The word you are looking for is Xenophilia.

I voted yes to them judging you because people do it often in real life so it makes sense..

As for my personal choice of who to marry I won't marry an Orc/Argonian etc.

I'll probably get with a female Breton [I'm playing as a Breton] or a Nord woman.

Playing a female Breton, I could see being married to handsome male with a good personality, human, mer or beast. Doesn't matter to me. Besides, some of those Khajiit men are pretty darn sixy. Now getting past the barbed organ is another idea... Maybe a male Argonian would be better.

And why are people putting Orcs in the same category as Khajiit and Argonian? They're OrsiMER, not beast race.

Same six marriage was confirmed ages ago. I'm marrying another female Bosmer with my female Bosmer, all my characters will marry their same race and same gender.

Cool, thanks. But I still hope there will be a lot of judgement (gay or interracial, whatever) from people who knows it (maybe people in the area my husband/wife is from, from the area where my house is and the people who sees us travelling together). A lot of negative judgement and some positive from open-minded people would be cool.

Also it makes the world more interesting and lifelike if there are negative and positive comments about who you marry, even if its not a race it could be the person you marry has a bunch of rumor about them already.

I don't think you should get into much trouble for pimp slapping a [censored] character who is being judgmental.

We have seen plenty of interracial relationships in Elder Scrolls games and lore. For a specific Mer to Beast-Folk parring, Barenziah got down with a Khajiit in The Real Barenziah, Daggerfall edition. Let's just say male Khajiit share a certain thing with cats on earth. Which... Was quite the surprise and caused her to pass out due to pain if I recall. Keep that in mind for all your female characters who you intend to marry off to Khajiit. :P

Some NPCs should, but not all. I'll probably not marry a beast race while not being a beast race, however. Probably.

I dunno.. Probably? Though the chances of me getting a beast race wife, are the same of me getting a human, or mer wife in game.

They are people all the same in the world of TES. Why would they be judged differently? That's more of an Earth prejudice. Even before Morrowind racial equality was the law of the Empire and it's been over 200 years since.

Perhaps some will judge, but I think it would be like people that judge interracial marriages in the USA today. Are there bigots about it? Well yeah, but they aren't the majority anymore, and of those people most keep it to themselves.

Why would anyone judge my Breton lady for marrying her Argonian maid? That's such a perfectly normal thing to do in Tamriel. Anyone who minds is just jealous ^^

In the real world that would mean, for example, an american man finding asian women attractive. In fantasy and Sci-Fi that includes aliens and non-humans, like elves for example.

So, we're all quilty of it! :teehee:
